Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe comfortable bed was not matched by very good pillows. Bathroom and shower cubicle were very small but be aware this is an old property in the Old Town and it is conveniently located for the traveller
Excellent location in the heart of the Old Town, by the river. Just a 10 min walk from the station. Surrounded by bars, restaurants and shops. Very friendly staff were always willing to assist. 10% discount in the adjoining Italian restaurant was an unexpected bonus. The food and service were very good.

GermanyBe aware that space between foot of bed and the wall is not alot, shower is small, as is the door space getting into the shower. And be sure to bring plug adapters that work in Switzerland.
Location was great, although Google maps brought us in the wrong way so not close enough to drop.our bags off, opted to head to recommended parking garage instead

SwitzerlandRoom and bathroom were very small. The furnishings were not functional: A big wardrobe is completely unnecessary and not adequate for the size of this room, other solution can provide enough storage / hanging without cluttering. The bathroom would have benefited from a sliding door or an outward opening door. Parking is available only in a public garage, but extremely expensive. The hotel did not provide any information on much cheaper parking garages only a little further away.

GermanyThe WiFi is a bit complicated: You have to register your phone number and wait for a code via SMS. Only after that you have access to the network.
It’s right in the historic center of Lucerne, very close to the famous chapel bridge. My room on the 4th floor was cozy, bright and big enough for my stay (but you have to be skinny for the narrow shower). The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. From Lucerne main station it’s ten minutes max.

United KingdomRoom was a little bit outdated and bathroom was pretty small.
Location is right in the center of the city. Check in was super smooth and people at reception were very friendly and welcoming. Bed wasn't the most comfy one, but we had a good night of sleep - also very quiet at night! Overall, better than expected considering the mixed reviews here.

NetherlandsThe heating in the hotel is set to very high temperature, especially in the room. Not necessary, uncomfortable, expensive for the hotel. The blanket was a bit itchy. The hotel itself has no breakfast available, but there are plenty of bakeries in the near vicinity.

Our room had a sliver of a view of the river. Access to a balcony. We appreciated the elevator. Dinner in the Italian restaurant was very good. It was News Years Eve so they were very busy. Very central location to walk around old town.

AustraliaThe pillows …. But not enough to ask for a second one which I’m sure they would have supplied.
Hotel is in a great location in Old Town in terms of closeness to restaurants, cafes, shops and main locations. (As with many old towns expect to walk the final distance from where you arrive/are dropped across bridges, cobble stones, stairs … but that’s normal in many places in Europe!) Good size rooms (however tiniest bathrooms we’ve had on one whole trip - but again - not unusual). Good beds (both size and comfort) … the pillows were very thin (obviously didn’t bother us enough to ask for a second one 😊). Plenty of restaurants close by and you are close to Chapel Bridge, etc.
