Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

RussiaSmall stair in the lobby — it’s inconvenient to move big luggage. Non-Chinese speaking guests spend more time to solve the issue. And be sure to ready pay deposit on check in.
Decoration of the room and common areas is great. Well equipped room, bathroom with a window, bathrobe and soft towels. Quiet rooms and fresh air from a garden. Garden is small, but cozy. Your neighbours are nice cats.

RussiaWhat I would like to improve: the readiness of the staff to resolve issues of English-speaking guests, including issues that go beyond the capabilities of the hotel. The arrival area is not very convenient - you unload your suitcases on the roadway.
The rooms are decorated in a consistent style: elegant wooden furniture, excellent textiles, fluffy towels and comfortable robes. A wonderful shower with tropical rain mode and a smart toilet. Windows with classic shutters open onto the garden to wake you up in the morning with birdsong. Breakfast is varied and delicious. Quite cozy, there are no endless buffets, but every item is good and worth trying. The territory is a cozy garden, which is equally good to wander around in the morning and evening, hiding from the bustle of big Shanghai.

PortugalThe delay on check in. The room wasn't ready, and althoug i asked previously for an earlier check in, since i would arrive early morning from europe, they told me it was only possible at 3 pm. Even so the room wasn't ready by that time. After some insistance, they gave me another room, saying it was a better one, and already prepared, but finaly it was in a new extension building and had no bath tube. The staff didn't speak english well enough to be understood.
The architeture of the builldings and the garden. The atrium was magnificent with its enormous stained glass windows with beautifull Art Nouveau motifs. Beautifull paneled surfaces and carved wood all over, particularly on the staircases of both builldings. Breakfast was good, with reasonable choice of bread and pastries.

CanadaStaff was showing obvious different attitude towards people of different ethnics background. If you can speak Mandarin and English, go with English and they would have a much better attitudes for you. Further, the room was narrower and has lower ceiling than what’s portrayed in the pictures.
Property location is great, within walking distance of many restaurants and bars.

Coffee in the hotel are poor quality, no oat or other milk for people to choose (like me who do not drink normal milk coffee …)and the price for a tiny cup of coffee at CNY68 per cup is far too expensive than any other 5 star hotels around the world 😅

I liked the bathroom, quite large, and a nice automatic bidet toilet. Also very clean and elegant. It's also a beautiful building to walk around and see so much history. It was a lot better than I expected.

FranceIt is high time to renovate the interior of this hotel which is also of another age and the decoration is really old-fashioned! The cleaning of the rooms is really poor and not at the level of a hotel at this price.
A very surprising hotel in the heart of Jing'An, 10 minutes walk from Plazza66 or the Jing'An Kerry Center. A building full of history, which takes you back more than 70 years! Even if they don't speak English, the staff will try their best to help you. Basic but correct breakfast.
