The views were amazing. It's at the very top, so nowhere else could compare -- worth every penny. The staff were so nice, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They booked so much for us as far as day trips and outings. The location was perfect. Walkable to shops and very good restaurants. The pools were wonderful and clean. The beds were comfortable. The shower was great. The wildlife was so cool to see around the hotel. The food at the restaurant was so delicious -- a higher level than a lot of ones we went to. The swim up pool bar was so amazing to watch the sunsets and the bartender was so great at his job.

Elevator broken. Toilet by pool broken. No chairs in room. Couldn’t print boarding pass. No handrails at front steps.

Beautiful location and lush gardens with resident iguana, monkey family and macaws. Beautiful dining facilities and great wait staff, especially Gregory. Dinners were wonderful, especially chef specials. Liked the omelets made to order for breakfast, but would have liked more variety in the breakfast breads. Beautiful sunsets, views and breezes.

The service was exceptional. We had one blip in the restaurant where we were overcharged a seemingly random price for a particular dish but other than that the rest of our experience was excellent. There was no request we made that was not attended to swiftly and without difficulty or resistance. The staff are a credit to the hotel. We stayed in a few places during our Costa Rica trip and La Mariposa stood above the rest in terms of service. The location is brilliant and the sea views from the room are stunning. The beautiful wildlife surrounds and creeps into the hotel grounds. I cannot recommend La Mariposa enough.

We were recommended a few tours from the hotel. We went with a few of them such as kayaking in the mangroves and guided tour of Manuel Antonio national park - these were very good and would highly recommend. However, the highest recommendation came for the sunset cruise where you could snorkel, see whales and dolphins etc.. This was a very poor choice - the crew were constantly drinking alcohol, were selective as to who was allowed to snorkel and were more concerned about getting people back on the boat so that the crew can go swimming themselves. Often felt like a cheap 18-30’s party boat. Would not recommend this excursion!

elevator was broken. We were on the 4th floor with see through spiraling staircases on both ends of the buildings. At checkin this was not mentioned and it was not repaired for the 2 nights spent. We love Mariposa having spent time there in the past. This negativity impacted our stay since one of roommates is fearful of heights and avoided leaving the room. We are in our 60’s and 70’s. There was support in carrying our bags by a very nice man which was greatly appreciated. Please be honest about the accommodations at checkin.

There are lots of steps and steep inclines in this hotel and although there is a 'limited' lift with some disabled signage this is not so accessible as the nature of the whole of Manuel Antonio is steep inclines and the hotel reflects this. The signage for the rooms needs to be more prominent as we could no locate our room when we got back after dark on the first day and had to seek assistance, again up inclines and steps. It would have been helpful to have a clothes line in the balcony to dry wet, sandy clothing.

Location of hotel had a fantastic view and close to some local shops and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel has a superb view of Manuel Antonio and the room we had with a balcony view of the sea and beaches was amazing. There is an infinity pool with an area to relax and get drinks and snacks if desired. Staff very helpful and attentive and eager to provide information on services within the hotel and provide a map so you can orientate yourself about the area. One day where we had an early start at 6:30am they facilitated us having a good breakfast box to take away. Staff assisted with getting luggage to the room. All communal areas were lovely with landscaped areas. The room was spacious and clean with a big bathroom. There was a regular shuttle bus provided by the hotel to get into the central Manuel Antonio beach area. We were so busy we did not have time to book any treatments in the spa which unfortunately I couldn't try. The hotel is near the main bus routes going to Quepos, Uvita and the centre of Manuel Antonio.

The friendly staff, the stunning view from all over the property, the pool and seeing all the wildlife! I just want to rewind and relive that amazing experience! We watched the sunrise from our balcony in the morning and watched Manuel Antonio come alive for the day ahead. Absolutely stunning! The breakfast was yum too!

The staff seemed to vary with some providing excellent service and others not so much, but overall we had a wonderful experience! It is not an adults only hotel so you do get the occasional kid splashing in the pool which feels a bit out of place based on price/location...

The views (especially at sunset) from the restaurant and bar areas are unparalleled! The hotel was very well kept with reasonable prices and a great location!
