Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelBathrooms were sometimes really dirty and I think most importantly the location. It’s on me for not looking it up but the neighbourhood the hostel is located in is the red light district of Frankfurt. Definitely a surprise. If you don’t mind the crackheads and the prostitutes, it’s a good location (close to the HBF)
Price wise it’s definitely worth it. We took a room for two and it was dirt cheap and pretty comfortable. Staff are really nice and showers are nice.

United StatesThe area was a little sketchy, homeless people everywhere. Also only provided one box fan for every room so it got a little hot/musty.
Staff was incredibly friendly and genuinely seemed to care about this place.

LuxembourgThe closeness to the train station is both a good and a less good thing.... The neighbourhood is bad with drug consumers and dealers wandering around all day long. I don't recommend spending much time in the streets. Luckily the hostel is close to the main roads that are less risky. From a facility point of view, there are only two showers (for men at least) at each floor, which means that sometimes guests need to go to the other floors to take showers. The capsules are unfortunately very hot during heat waves and the little fans inside are not state-of-the-art ones. Apart from that, overall a good experience for short stays (2/3 nights maximum).
Lot of privacy in the capsules, which is really appreciated. Free coffee, tea and water in the living room/common space. Very close to the train station

GermanyThe Capsules are unvearable in summer. The Ventilation was not sufficuent, so we had to sleep with open capsules. The other dorms have no curtains, so there is no privacy. There is no AC in the rooms. The Bathroom was filthy most of the times.
Good location just Minutes from the Train Station, 24 hour Reception. Social Hostel with a lot of activities and good atmosphere.

BelgiumThe area where the hostel is located can be quite noisy, but in the capsule I didn't hear anything.
It was quite a nice stay for me. The capsule was quite big. I believe any tall person would fit. To catch your sleep for 1 night, this is an okay place. The breakfast is very basic (yogurt, tea, coffee, bread, some fruits, sandwiches).

TaiwanSmell of the room (but that's not a problem of the hostel, it's the people who stayed there).
Location is great for a short stay - very close to the main train station. Common area is big and nice.

United KingdomThe lounge was smoky even though no one was smoking in there…it must drift from the back or downstairs. The area in which the hostel is situated is awful. It didn’t feel very safe but the good news is that it was very close to the railway station so getting to the airport was easy. My lock wouldn’t lock the locker. It needs a padlock with a specific diameter. You can borrow one from the reception.
The pods were actually better than expected. They are quite big inside- bigger than a backpacking tent! It was also quiet inside which is just as well as the street outside was very noisy. There is a nice lounge. The house pizza was good VFM. The security of the hostel was good. There are electronic locks on the dorm rooms and on the pods.

NetherlandsQuality of provided meals is not the best.... but it's free, so... Guest kitchen is quite small, if you have more than 4 people it feels crowded already...
It is bascially under 5 minutes walking from the central train station, you can debate the neighbourhood of course... They got free tea and coffee, and provide meals. Neighbourhood is sketchy but otherwise, no major downsides.

✅ Located in the city centre say 3-4 mins from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof station. ✅ Affordable pricing ✅ Good for backpackers

United KingdomThe front desk played in the Evening to loud music, techno, it was so loud that I couldn't talk with anyone, it was disturbing and made it hard to relax and enjoy talking to my friend. Uncomfortable.
In the morning at breakfast the morning crew at the desk was much more caring and helpful and the music was not so loud.

GermanyThe comfort and cleanliness of the room always depends on the roommates. The matress already had a few stains since some people don't use bed sheets because you have to pay extra. The bed was shaking everytime the other person moved.
Very good breakfast!! Happy hour, free Crèpes night. Location close to the train station. I didn't make use of all the facilities they offered since I only stayed for one night, but it made a good impression. Big locker under the bed, bring a padlock.
