Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The hotel was a great base for us to explore the old town and the neighborhood. Very convenient to take a walk in the old town and an easy walk to the bus or train station. The breakfast and the room are quite basic but OK.

The hotel reception feels like it's been squeezed into a corridor at the bottom of the stairs. The staff were "functional" but little more. The breakfast room is rather a tight squeeze when the hotel is busy.
An amazing room, which outstripped expectations. The location - right in the heart of Fussen - is perfect. The hotel's underground car park is a great bonus.

No kettle in the room.
Central location in Fussen, on site parking available, large quadruple room available with good bathroom. Good breakfast included too with hot and cold selection.

We took ages to find the car park. Perhaps they could add more details or use just three words. An hour driving round. And round was very exhausting.

The booking description said they had their own parking. This is true, but it is limited and cannot be reserved in advance. We only found out on site if there was a space available. Furthermore, parking cost an extra 9 euros, which is not a lot of money, but they could have discussed it in advance.
The accommodation is in a very good location, everything is easily accessible. The room is nicely renovated in an older building. The staff is helpful, the breakfast was delicious.

The room my family and I stayed at had a window, but it was on the roof. It was also quite hot in the room.
The beds were big and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and bright, perfect for ladies to do their makeup. The breakfast was delicious.

No A/C. A few fans in the room would have helped cool it off. Top floor, heat of June was rough at night.

There wasn't a traditional reception area and it wasn't staffed at all times. Whenever we returned to the hotel the external door was never locked. External security, plus the addition of a kettle, tea & coffee would make this hotel score a full 10
The hotel is situated on the main street of the old town. We were greeted by a very friendly & helpful receptionist. The room was spacious and clean and had the most comfortable bed we have ever found in any hotel! The hotel is bright with windows that you can open. The breakfast was very good with a variety of options.

Our biggest concern was that the outdoor bike storage shed was not locked and there was nothing to lock our bikes to. It was great to have a convenient place to leave our bikes, but we did not sleep well knowing the shed was not secure. In addition, our TV and several lights did not work during our entire 2 night stay. We asked several times for this to be addressed, but nothing was fixed. For the price, a refrigerator in the rooms would be nice. There was also only one chair in the room. Thankfully, they provided an additional one after we asked so we could sit together at the table. Finally, we only one small window that looked out onto the parking lot. This would have been a nightmare on a warm summer night without air conditioning. If you like more light, be sure to request with your booking - not all the rooms look like the photos.
Our room was very spacious, but also a little sparse and dark. The bed was large and very comfortable. The bathroom and walk-in shower were amazing! The breakfast as also plentiful and very good. Finally, the location can't be beat! Right in the beautiful city center.

Everything was great
Location was great, situated downtown in the pedestrian area. Parking right behind so no long walks with luggage, and only a short walk to a variety of restaurants. What a beautiful little town. Only a ten minute drive from the Castle which we visited the next morning.

There was nothing I didn’t like about this hotel. A kettle and a small fridge in the room would be good but definitely not a negative not having them. Brilliant hotel!
