How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Wifi code was not shown in the room. But the second day, after the staff pointed out, I found the code was stated on a sticker on the front desk. Well, it would be great to make it more clear for guests. But then, this was just a small problem.
The hotel is situated in a very quiet area. It looks small at the first impression, but after staying for two nights, we actually found everything we need. Private parking can be found in front of the hotel entrance and also back doors. We stayed on weekdays (but during school vacations of Easter) and have no problems to find parking lot after 8pm when returning to the hotel. And it's free. Also breakfast is in included in room price. During our stay we only see the staff (probably the owner himself) at noon when checking in and every morning when he prepares breakfast for guests. There was no front desk at night, we used the room key also for the hotel door. I would say this is not a extraordinarily friendly hotel, but we felt quite relax and comfortable. With the price given and the free parking/breakfast, we will surely consider to stay again next time.

Almost nothing. If have to say something, i would expect some corners of the room to be cleaner and free of dust.
Breakfast, and the two cute cute puppies of the owners there.

Hotel prices in general are high in this area, and this one was more than I wanted to pay, but much less than if we stayed in town.
A 15 minute walk i to the center of town so the neighborhood was quiet. Breakfast was really nice. The room was very clean.

The Altstadt and the City center are not within walking distance.
Beautiful, quiet hotel in the outskirts of the City, ideal for a relaxing getaway! The personal was kind and helpful!

Walking to the hotel from the centre of Turbingen is quite an exercise! It wasn't really an issue for us - but it could be difficult for some guests.
We stayed at Hotel Katharina Garni so that my son could visit the University where he was considering studying. The hotel was peaceful, very clean and the owners made a special effort to cater for our arrival at a slightly unusual time. The breakfasts were nice.

Checking rooms more often in more detail would bring more comfort to the guests.
The room was excellent, with balcony and fridge (with minibar). Lovely stay for 5 days, situated in a quite area, very close to bus stop that took 5-7 minutes to the city centre.

Toilet is small.

A bit far from the city centre. A steep slope/stairs up the hill for walkers.
Very good sleeping comfort. Quiet area, quiet hotel, good temperature in the room, no disturbing noises. The room was spacious with a large balcony, wonderful for long mornings! Nice green and calm upper class area, perfect for walking the dog. Splendid bathroom. Pet friendly.

I couldn't find a "do not disturb" sign.
The outside doesn't say too much, but once inside, the faculty was nice, clean, and quiet. The breakfasts was really good as well

Room was not cleaned completely daily - only bed was made up - shower water did not drain properly and was not cleaned each day.
