Nice size room with an entrance area before entering bedroom. We had a nice view to the city across the river like a framed picture on the wall. Great location as it is just 8-10 min walk outside the main city centre yet it feels secluded. Clean and simple set up.

The room was very dated, stale smell, bed was tiny and uncomfortable. Bathroom was very basic and the shower quite temperamental with the ability to scald. I put this in context of how much the room costs per night and how very popular the hostel is. With that amount of money coming in I expect better upkeep. Breakfast was good, all the right things, just a little congested around the serving island.

Be aware that if you don’t have a car, you essentially have to bike to the Wadden Sea Centre because there is no transit and taxis (apparently) aren’t willing to come from Esbjerg often. Not sure if I missed the memo on having to pay for sheet rentals, but that was unexpected. The shower, like many Danish hostel showers, does a good job of spraying outside onto the rest of the bathroom.

Breakfast had lots of good Danish options, tea, coffee, and juices. As North Americans we missed a toaster since we’re not used to untoasted bread for breakfast. Bike rental was easy and reasonably priced. Great location for getting to town. Staff were super friendly and helpful! The hostel was clean, quiet, and comfortable!

Rooms - We didn't realize that it is a hostel that offers private rooms. Rooms are very basic, you have to rent or bring your own linen and towel. Rooms had foul smell, which you will get used to after sometime. I'd certainly recommend this place if you are used to / can sleep in bunk beds.

Light in the room corridor turn on automatically when there is movement. This causes the light to turn on when you turn in bed. Can only be avoided by closing the room door to the corridor and then the room feel very small.

It would have been appreciated if we had been notified in advance of the high street roadworks and the alternative route to the hostel. Also worth noting that you have to hire towels and bed linen if you don’t bring your own, which does add to the price a little.

We paid a little extra for a room with a view to the city and the cathedral. The view could have been nice, but there were scaffoldings in front of the window, and the window itself was really dirty, so the view was more or less ruined. Maybe they will fix this until the holiday season starts.

A tidy place with an excellent location close to the center of the small, beautiful city. Decent breakfast. The guy at the reception was extremely helpful. We didn't cook there, but the kitchen was well-equipped. The soundproofing in the rooms was ok.
