Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe directions to the hotel should be updated as it is very difficult to find. The directions from the site had us trying to go the wrong way on a one way street. It is very difficult to know that you can drive on the tram street in front of the hotel. Also the signage for the hotel should be improved. The etching on the glass is nice however it is extreemly difficult to see. We were not a fan of the bathroom walls being etched glass. Not very private.
The staff was very helpful. There were many great restaurants in the area to choose from. The tram to the heart of Cadiz was very easy to take as it was located right in front of the hotel.

SpainImpossible to park very-very close to the hotel. It is located in a pedestrian zone, in the old town. Parking is available at nearby spots, some 10 min walk away.
Very central location. Spacious and clean room. Great breakfast, with diverse options and many fruits.

United KingdomThe only thing to add would be that the bathroom is one of those 'modern' ones with clear walls and a door that doesn't really shut close, so in that sense, it's not a very private bathroom experience.
Location was very good, and it had the option of a car park for 12 euros, which you really need over there. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Staff were very helpful in every interaction, recommending local amenities.

United StatesThere is no nearby or easy parking. Don't stay here if you are bringing a car.
The description listed it as having parking, but nothing was further from the truth. The hotel is in the town square with no parking nearby, and was also very hard to find. Not on Google Maps accurately.

United KingdomThe reception staff were rude. Didn’t greet, just asked for passport immediately then continued talking to their colleague throughout. The solarium was closed, I asked for it to be opened which they said they didn’t do. Wouldn’t be an issue if this was clear on the booking but I chose it for the rooftop and it didn’t say it would be closed like many do with their ‘winter’ dates for pools etc.

RomaniaThe staff that welcomed us was not very nice and didn’t speek English very good. The parking is not free and it was already full when we arrived. The breakfast was awful, the fruits looked very old and the oranges had mold on them. The cheese also looked old. We couldn’t eat anything apart from bread with jam, which looked okay.

United KingdomBeing charged 30 euros a night for the dog. This should be advertised. We were only told on arrival once we had checked in. Too late to move or book another place. We were told if we had a puppy then they might have made it free or cheaper ! Puppies would most likely cause damage and soil the floors. Room was far too hot so to cool it you had to open windows. It meant having to listen to a lot of street noise outside as it is the main thoroughfare for the town. It took until 4am to cool it down sufficiently to sleep then you had about one hour until the bin lorries started. No AC available. Not being told that you had to drive onto a pedestrianised area with tram lines to get to the hotel so wasted an hour going in circles.
Location in town was good. Staff in general were nice. Breakfast waiter and cleaner. Nice view from window. Certainly not cold inside room.
