How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Breakfast staff had a stick up their ass. Accessible shower designed poorly. Bathroom flooded everytime shower was used. Elevators very small - Typical for Europe.

The room and the facilities are very basic although the bathroom was top notch.
The location is very central with access to restaurants, bakeries and la Ramla street at a walking distance.

Bed could have been more comfortable- duvet was very thin and the bed sheet over it was all open with no fastenings, so it didn’t combine nicely. A lot of noise in the corridor- was difficult to sleep peacefully. Kept hearing doors bang and people talking from other rooms in hotel. Breakfast was good- nice pastry selection. Hot food wasn’t great. No fried eggs, only scrambled and boiled eggs. No hash browns or beans (less vegetarian option, no halal option), had a lot of pork/bacon. Also, the hot breakfast was quite cold (scrambled eggs and mushrooms). I had tea and toast as didn’t fancy cold scrambled egg again after the 1st day. Also wasn’t so sure about cross contamination with the pork with egg/mushrooms as had a feeling people were mixing the spoons as they were right next to each other. I got told off by the hotel manager for taking a pastry out the dining area with me LOL. Didn’t think it was a big deal as it would have gone in the bin anyway as it was already on my plate. Also I was in a rush so thought I’d eat it on the go! I paid for it already, so what’s the big deal? :/
Comfortable room & terrace. Good toiletries provided- tooth brush/paste, comb, make up removing cotton pads, shampoo/shower gel in one, shaving kit. Hair dryer in the bathroom. Slippers provided. Kettle, tea/coffee (no English breakfast tea though, I remember mint tea and fruit tea being there). Staff were very friendly.

The hotel needs to be updated. The rooms need to be renovated. Some tiles are broken, bathroom is old. The TV was not working and the soap in the shower was not re-filled.
The staff was amazing and very helpful. The bed very comfortable. Location is very nice with everything around.

Hotel did not serve breakfast or dinner. There was no bar in the hotel. The hotel wasn't very accommodating with breakfast time when the purpose of the trip was for a race.
Clean hotel with friendly staff. Free jellies in lobby and mini chocolate bars in the hotel room was a lovely touch. Very central location wise.

It was really noisy because it’s an old building and everything is made out of stone; I often woke up in the middle of the night or early morning because others closed (slammed) their doors or made noise in their room.

Occasionally the room services arrived too early. No restaurant for an evening meal.
Spacious room with balcony. Kettle was essential for tea and hot water bottle. Small fridge was good to keep milk and other drinks and snacks. The room was south facing on the top floor and would have been great to enjoy the balcony in warmer weather. Great positioning for the center of Barcelona. It was a good choice for a 2 week break. Staff were very accommodating.

There was a lot of dust under the bed, do they ever really clean the room? Most staff didn’t even speak English (or didn’t try) The lifts were old and slow Breakfast wasn’t that great No water pressure in the toilet, which was impossible to clean

This hotel is not bad. Just expected a bigger room than we have got. Also, pictures don't express a reality. The hotel looks quite old. The receptionist was very friendly.

The room had windows toward another building really close and cloustrofobic. No day light coming into the room what so ever, we could not tell if its day or night.
