How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room was poorly made up. No pillows, ants everywhere and no one available to sort any of the problems out. There was a storm at the time and the temperature fell to zero outside and there was no heating in the room. The shower trap was so full of hair and debris that the bathroom flooded.
Location was good for our trip. That was it. Stayed here many time but this time it was disgusting.

The room didn’t seem to be cleaned with stains and dirt on the carpet. No towels in the bathroom, without it being mentioned upfront.

See above We stayed at a campanile at St Jean de luz previous to this stay, the whole experience could not compare
The room wasn't particularly clean , the outlet for heater / fan, the vent in shower room were really dirty The carpet was quite stained too , alongside the net curtains were falling down! There was also remnants of dog faeces on the path outside the room

The room was not soo clean, especially during the COVID situation. The kettle was dirty, the bathroom had mould around the shower and the shower separation was not well made as all the water was coming through it and the floor was floaded even after being careful, the carpet had some old stains. I have had chance to stay in few hotels of this chain and was never disappointed, knowing it's a 3 star hotel. This hotel seems to have a lower standard. The check-in was fine, nice person at the desk. We had food in the restaurant as well. The food was fine. The next morning we checked out but the person a the desk was not friendly at all (different person). We have asked to keep our bags so we were told that they don't have enough space and we need to take our bags till 3 pm. Never had any issues to leave the bags in the hotel before, knowing that they have designated room for keeping the luggage. The next issue comes after asking for the bus that goes back to city. The "friendly" receptionist said that there should be a bus stop nearby but she does know where it goes so we should check with a draver. Not helpful at all. I would not come back again for two reasons: struggle to get to this hotel if you have no car and second, the standard in this hotel is quite low, compering other hotels Campanile I have stayed in. If u don't mind all the fuss and u need a bed then it's fine I guess.

Room wasn't to the same standard as the one we had stayed in the night before at Poitiers. Same hotel chain. Dirty floor in bathroom. No cushion only one thin pillow. No tea or coffee yet a kettle and two kettle stands. Although the shower was adequate the water splashes out onto the bathroom floor as the glass panel not wide enough. The extractor fan didn't have a cover and the plug cover doesn't stay in place. The food in the restaurant was OK. We got the bill before we got the food? When we had finished the main course and sat for over twenty minutes still with dinner plates infront of us and nobody came to us. We had wanted a coffee and nightcap but we gave up waiting and went to bed. Such a shame as the previous night we'd had an excellent night stop at the same hotel chain in Poitiers.
OK for an overnight stop with dogs on a long journey.

Le nettoyage de la chambre où je me trouvais était très léger (par exemple télécommande non nettoyée). La chambre est vraiment vieillissante et à besoin d un réel coup de peinture !
