Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenAir con was dodgy, gave off warm air. We stayed in March and had to have the balcony doors open because the room got stuffy. Busy street below so hard to sleep in.
Good location, close to train station. Decent-sized room with a double balcony. Friendly, helpful staff. Free coffee in reception.

LuxembourgThe breakfast room is rather small and the offer is a bit limited. I had booked a single room which is indeed quite small and the air conditioning was not working well. As I travelled in March, that was not an issue.
Very kind and helpful staff at the reception desk. The water fountain with the bottles at disposal and the coffee machine are a nice feature. The location next to the train station is very convenient.

United KingdomWe really enjoyed our breakfast each morning. A lovely selection of cereals, cheeses, fresh fruit salad, juices, bakery items, hot food etc. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The bedroom was a little on the small size but was adequate, the bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. The hotel is located across the road from the station where we travelled on day trips to Cannes etc. Buses and tram 2 minutes from hotel servicing Monaco and other destinations. Tram can also be boarded at airport to reach hotel. Hotel Villa Bougainville is non-corporate and therefore the interior design is unique. The building is of art deco structure with lift to all floors and the colour scheme is blue/green throughout which was quite vibrant and gave the hotel a quirky pleasant theme. Complementary filtered water and hot drinks were also offered.

HungaryDishes at breakast sometimes need to be exchanged because not perfectly washed. Also in WC at check-in: I saw that it was cleaned, but somebodies hair (maybe of a personal) was there. I also managed to cut a finger staying there for 2 nights. Late evening went to reception but they did not have any basic plaster to patch it. I would expect any hotel to have some basic medicine box for emergency cases or cases like mine.
Nice is not a too big city. In 20 minutes you can walk downtown. Should you travel to Monaco or somewhere else by train, the train station is very close. Even though the rooms are not new, the colours and the style of the room hides it very well. It looked nice and I felt comfortable there. A breakfast was good enough.

United KingdomThe level of room service provided was below average. On two of the five nights that we stayed at the hotel, we requested that they provided us with a broom and/or hoover as although we had requested our rooms to be tidied these wasn’t carried out to an expected standard. Both times when we made the request to have someone hoover the room after room service had come round and made the beds, the cleaning staff had already left so this was not possible, which meant that I effectively cleaned the room for myself. The housekeepers also removed the broom from our room the following morning yet had made no attempt to hoover or sweep the room, which I found odd as they cleaned around visible hair and dust on the floor. The room itself is very dusty, in particular under the bed has not been hoovered in quite a while and there was artwork in the room that had very thick layers of dust within them (I can provide photos)
The staff were very friendly.

United Kingdom* Relatively small rooms * View from many of the rooms are the train station / train tracks. * Bit noisy - elevator / doors being shut / water moving through the pipes.
* Great location: next to the main train station, if you are planning trips from Nice. Close to the main shopping street, about 20 min to the promenade. * Free coffee / tea in the lobby all day. * Nice, upbeat interior. * Comfortable beds. * Mini fridge and kettle in the room. * Reliable wifi. * 35ish minutes to get to / from the airport (depending on exact time of day)

Bosnia and HerzegovinaFor two nights, the hotel's guests included a group of younger Chinese who did not respect house rules, they gathered in the corridor and rooms after midnight... but the reception reacted and resolved the situation
Considering the purpose of my trip and the use of the room exclusively for sleeping, I can say that everything was good, especially the proximity to the train station suited me. The breakfast buffet exceeded my expectations. From the first contact upon arrival, they "bought" me to visit them again if the opportunity/need arises...

SerbiaThe only minor inconvenience was the small elevator, so if you have a lot of luggage it could be a problem.
The staff left the best impression! Every person working at the reception was outstanding and efficient. The rooms were incredibly clean, and the beds were very comfortable. A great touch to the experience was the free water and coffee/hot chocolate in the lobby. Definitely recommend!

United KingdomThe road and rail noise can be a bit of a bother so I would advise travelling with ear plugs.
This was my second trip to this hotel, I had previously traveled a month before with my adult son. On that occasion I decided I wouldn’t return as the noise from the road and station disturbed me. Anyway a month later, the price was half of what it had been and I was in Nice, this time Solo. I opted for what I knew and I’m glad I did. It’s not perfect but there are plus points. Staff were very helpful when I needed a room change. My mobility can be a bit dodge and the first room I was put in, I knew I would trip on the bathroom step. Staff were so kind and helpful when I asked to move and for that I’m grateful. This time I didn’t have breakfast although I think 10e is a good price, I was actually on the beach before sunlight so I didn’t have the option anyway. I like the fact the hotel is close to the station although I wish the tram was closer. By the station there is a really good salad place ( I’m vegan and finding food can be a mission). I will probably stay here again and I will be back to Nice soon. I scattered my mums ashes in Nice in October so now I have to keep visiting.

GermanyUnfortunately the rooms are not soundproof at all. The other guests were always speaking in the hall, the doors are very loud (apparently quite common in France), and it all sounded really loud. Maybe asking the guest to keep that in mind and try to keep quiet in the halls would be a good idea. I was a bit disappointed that paper cups were offered, instead of actual cups, and for some reason all the coffee pods were decaf 🤷♀️ I was really glad that they accepted my small dog, but I was charged 15 Euro/night (I was warned right after the reservation). It is the highest dog fee I've paid so far. I do not think it's really justifiable or reasonable.
Very close to the train station. The rooms are beautiful, I was mesmerized when I got in.
