Our third stay at the Boreal, a little disappointing this time. Discovered on arrival room safe not working, reported it to reception and again to various reception staff over the next few days. On leaving 5 days later nothing had changed, just seemed too easy and meaningless for reception to say sorry at checkout.

Nothing not to like.

Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Excellent English speakers, which was appreciated. The room was great for the price and there were two double beds, so our child had a massive bed, which was a treat for him. All clean. Good blackout curtains. Large wardrobe. We had breakfast there and the selection was great. All tasty and lots of choice. Buffet breakfast style. Not far to walk from the train station. Easy to find. Right next to main shopping street and trams but also very quiet. Thanks for a great stay!

The hotel is in the center, location is very good. They aways try to find you free room available in case you arrived earlier than check in time. Staff very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the part of the hotel where was no elevator, but was our choice as we didn’t wanted to wait till 3 pm for check in. The room was clean, bed comfortable, for stay 5 days the room felt quite small, furnitures looked quite old l could say. Breakfast was okay, not so big choice, but manageable, even so the option every day same scrambled eggs and bacon could be varied a bit.

The bed was very narrow, although we ordered double bed. This one was not double at all. Maybe it is the standard, I am not sure. Very poor sound proofing, you can hear the doors slamming and water flushes from your neighbors. Breakfast was surprisingly limited.

The location is great. Staff was helpful and we got checked in earlier upon our request.

The breakfast set up was very strange with no sense of operational direction In majority of self-service breakfast serving hotels I have stayed in, if the food and coffee facilities are on the right and tables to the left then, logically speaking you would set up the plates and cups at the beginning of the line for food and drinks. Then move to the table, it was quite odd and confusing that the table was set to the point of having to go to your table to get the plate and cup to return back to the otherwise of the restaurant to fill up the plate and cups to just return back to the seating you had to go to in the first place... Time wasting exercise, as if you want a quicker breakfast time turn over it would be more efficient to have the flow moving right to left, plate and cup, food and drink load up and select a table to sit. Swing left excusing already sorted patrons to return past them to get a tray for the plate you got at the table to fill up and attempt to move past the patrons again....it disturbs and disrupts... If this was resolved I would say breakfast time would be a much faster and more enjoyable experience.

The location of the hotel, the staff were also very pleasant and helped out with local knowledge, places to visit, how to get there and where it was good to eat out.

The wing of the hotel I stayed has not be decorated or renovated in some time. While everything was clean, the decor is looking rather tired.

Hotel Boréal Nice is in an ideal location in central Nice. A short walk to Old Nice and in a pleasant location within the 'new' town. The hotel staff were very friendly and spoke good English. A good breakfast is offered, which is a combination between cooked and continental styles. The room I stayed in was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well.

There was no proper desk in the room although I could have maybe requested it before. There is a nice old fashioned living room/book room to do bits of work and chill but it's not well set up. I would say that for business solo travelers like me, they should think about having a space for work. The breakfast area is only used in the morning. The other thing was the room could get cold at night without the heater however it is a little noisy.

It was pretty clean and tidy. The staff at reception were nice. Great location which makes it worth a stay if you don't want to spend too much.
