There was no on tap draught beers available

Room comfortable and unusually ample shelf space in the bathroom, very thoughtful. Menu for dinner limited, but well prepared and enjoyable

The bedroom and the corridors were damp, with the room itself having very little air flow as the window couldn’t be opened, though the bed and bathroom were good. We had no wifi in the room either - perhaps other rooms are much better in the hotel as we were the furthest away from the main building. The breakfast was also so so - would recommend having breakfast in one of the many great places in Salisbury instead. Overall we’d expected a little better for our money.

The hotel is perfectly central to the cathedral and city as a whole, and the history of the hotel is fascinating! Despite being on a main road, it was surprisingly quiet at night, and the staff were lovely at all times and very helpful. The bathroom and the shower was also great and the bed was comfortable.

Closer attention to dusting around room. Lampstand was very dusty and bathroom plug and water outlets need bleach cleaning. But surface issues only and easily corrected.

Rooms were excellent, very comfortable and great night's sleep. Spacious, with lovely bathroom. Bedlinen was great quality and nice.

In the room, the cafetiere was dirty. The breakfast experience was poor. Items were missing or dirty (we were first ones at our table). While we appreciated the breakfast, unfortunately the coffee was undrinkable and the poached egg was completely hard and had an overpowering taste of vinegar, so we couldn't eat that either. Also, toast was listed with the full English and we didn't get any. The TV had hardly any working channels.

The overall presentation of the hotel was great and the room was very quiet. The location was perfect. We felt safe and the staff were helpful. They were able to store out luggage while we went out and about after check-out.

Very dated. Curtains wasn’t hanging properly and the net curtain had a huge hole in it. Poor member of staff on his own at night was flitting between reception and the bar!

Lovely building from the outside. Room was very spacious and the bed very comfortable.

Stayed here for partners birthday. In the room (room 55), the net curtain had a large rip in the middle of it. The whole look of the room was considerably more dated than what is shown when I selected the room on booking.com. The cups and spoons had clearly been dry wiped and were vibly unclean. No bottles of water were supplied (as described on here), and one single milk. There was not alot of toilet roll. Impossible to connect to the hotel WiFi but the staff did log me into the client WiFi, replace the cups and replenish the waters etc. Not something that can be changed but the walls are very thin. You can quite literally hear someone sneeze in the next room.

The staff were lovely and helpful. I found the bed very comfortable. The courtyard is beautiful.

Quite dusty, I sneezed a lot Cold ass floor in the bathroom

The fact that it’s very old and many bits of interior remind you of that. I liked the fireplace. The private bath. Large and comfy bed. Lots of tea and coffee stocked up in the room. It was very nice experience.

The room we had was basic and glad was not in summer time as no way could we have the windows open with the pigeon nests right outside our window- which made for an early wake up call!

Central location, parked the car up and that's where it stayed for the weekend. Rooms were clean and good enough size for weekend stay. The staff was all very helpful and friendly. Food was very nice too as we ate in restaurant for 1st night and breakfast on both mornings.

Room could have been cleaner and warmer. Bed duvet was too thin for the winter so we slept with extra clothes on. The duvet was tucked in too much at the foot of the bed so that our shoulders were not covered.

Friendliness of staff was very good and the gas logs fire in the bar was welcoming. The atmosphere was nice due to the age of the building. The car parking worked well

My room was many stairs high … the lift was not working .. I think some warning about the room should have been made available on the booking. There was no phone in the room which means any emergency would have been uncommunicated. A minor irritation was no milk of any kind for complimentary drinks.

It was very noisy, from doors banging through the night. The shower was difficult to use/position and flooded the bathroom. I had to use all my towels to dry it up. That happened twice.

The history of the hotel has the most appeal
