Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandA bit noisy during the night. No elevator (old Victorian house with relatively narrow flights of stairs - there are 3 floors). Draughts (old house : air goes through the gap at the bottom of the door and the window which is not insulated).
Great convenient location (2 min walk from King's Cross & St Pancras metro stations). Friendly & helpful staff. Clean room with kettle & cups (coffee, tea & milk in the room were refilled every day), TV, hairdryer, towel, soap & shower gel, lots of electric sockets. Very confortable bed.

United KingdomNo negatives.
Great location for Kings Cross Station. Friendly staff. The receptionist actually carried my bag to my room because I looked so tired after a long day of flight delays. Very impressive, friendly, helpful staff. The room was spotlessly clean and it had tea facilities which were greatly appreciated by a weary traveller.

United KingdomIt was very nosey outside from delivery drivers through the night and early morning. But it also helped to wake me up for early train. Its no fault of the hotel just one of those things and u get used to it
The staff were so welcoming and friendly and even offered to help with bags.was so stress free booking in and out, and even the option to pay before i arrived was great. So much better than my last stay at a known budget hotel which was a nightmare. The location is excellent for train station and eurostar . Will definitely stay here again. Beds were so comfy.

LithuaniaAs other reviews say. Sink in the bathroom has unpleasant odor after use. Metro sounds were noticeable, but did not disturb our sleep.
Excellent location, USB charging outlet, pretty comfortable bed, adjustable temperature radiator, seemed like pretty safe neighbourhood. Overall room was better and bigger than we expected after reading reviews.

NetherlandsThere was nothing that truly bothered or disappointed me, but there are a few things worth pointing out: - there is no elevator in the hotel, so be prepared for some stairs if you're on the third floor; - the rooms are locked and opened with a physical key, not a key card. Extra important to keep track of your keys; - the doors don't have peepholes; - reception is closed between midnight and 8.a.m. If you arrive later, you'll need to enter with your key; - while I was there, some A/C or heating unit seemed to be running outside. In the night, I heard a constant low hum. It didn't bother me because it felt like white noise, but it's worth mentioning.
I was very pleased with this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful: when I arrived early, it was no problem to leave my bag and explore the city first. The room was very basic, but as clean as can be, and that's the most important to me. The other spaces (hotel lobby, hallways, stairs) also seemed very clean and well-maintained. The room has windows that can be opened, which I really appreciated, as so many hotels don't allow for fresh air! There's no safety mechanism on the window, however, so if you're traveling with small children this might not be ideal. Finally, the location is fantastic, especially if you arrive by Eurostar: it's a literal 2-min walk from the station. This is not just ideal when you're arriving and departing, but also whenever you have to get back on the subway: several lines have a stop at King's Cross, and if they don't it's easy to transfer to one that does!

IrelandIt's not what I didn't like but it's more that it was a bit unexpected; however it's all very subjective. The rooms are very small and the stairs are very narrow. In our case, for one night, it was perfect. Location is key!
The location is ideal if you're doing anything in London like sightseeing or a west-end show. It's a stone's throw from Kings Cross.
