Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NorwayThe beds were very hard and it was difficult to sleep comfortably without aching in the morning. The rooms were also incredibly small that even for just two people it was tight to move around in. If you're just using the rooms to sleep in, the smallness isn't that big of a problem. There was a closet to put bags in, but generally there isn't a lot of space to have stuff sitting without it getting cluttered or cramped really quickly. The bathroom in our room also smelt like sulfur/sewage. Luckily the smell was only in the bathroom and it didn't seep into the bedroom, but when we would use the toilet it was fairly strong. Just in general, the main hall/stairway of hotel had a slight "bathroom" smell to it. I'm not sure if this is a recent issue or something but it was noticeable. The water pressure in the shower is very low. But the temperature does stay hot for a while, so it was possible to shower after one another and get a hot shower.
The hotel was super close to Kings Cross St. Pancras and numerous underground entrances, making it really easy to get around the parts of London we were interested in! We spent a lot of time wandering different parts of the city, then coming back to the hotel to drop off/pick up stuff and then continue. It was very convenient! It was close to numerous food options, so dining (even quite late) was definitely a possibility and very easy to do. We arrived earlier than the rooms were ready, but the staff was super nice and took our (small) bags and put them in the room for us while we ate. We were also able to leave our bags there after check out while we explored around the city a bit more. They were labeled with our room number and easy to pick up when we were ready to leave. There was a small portable fan that helped greatly with keeping the room nice and cool at night and the windows were able to be opened.

United KingdomWhen I paid originally it said that it was a communal toilet with other guested I paid the extra was then told it was just a toilet and sink no shower and I’d need to pay another £30 for that so I left it to come and find a toilet and shower so basically it was a scam for more money which I wasn’t impressed by.
It had friendly staff, good location, felt it was safe to keep my stuff there

IT's very near St. Pancras train station, and the tube station. So that was fantastic! It is a very old building, which I expected, but it was a VERY small room, which made it not very comfortable, and no lobby. It was great for one night before flying out and coming in from St. Pancras. But if you want a longer term stay, unless you're by yourself, not too comfortable. Great neighborhood! Pubs nearby, and a walking trail along the canal 15 minutes away. In Kings Cross neighborhood.

ThailandThis hotel doesn't have an elevator, so anyone staying on a floor that requires using the stairs might have to carry their luggage, which can be a bit tiring. However, we understand that it's due to the old building structure, so we weren't too bothered by it.
This hotel is very close to King's Cross Station, making it perfect for those who need to travel to other cities by train. The location deserves full marks, and I really liked the staff who communicated well, were helpful, and answered our questions quickly and efficiently. Impressive.

I hadn't realised that breakfast wasn't provided but it wasn't a problem at all as the owner of Fairway Hotel recommended a very friendly Italian restaurant just round the corner where I had an evening meal when I arrived & breakfast the next morning before getting the Eurostar to Paris.

United KingdomThe room was tilted to one side, pillow side down as well so it was a little strange.
Very good location, close to St Pancras/ King’s Cross Station. The hotel isn’t trying to be what it isn’t, so it’s cheap for central London and does what it needs to if you just need a bed for the night.
