    Pleasant stay by the seaside.

Nothing was bad. The facilities were basic but everything we needed. Little ragged around some of the edges so feel we paid for location rather than the quality of the room. Food OK but clearly a very popular bar used to catering for lots of people. We were above the kitchen so we were aware of the extractor fans and the smell of fryer oil especially if we left the windows open.

The staff were absolutely lovely and so helpful. They made our stay. The location was great just metres to the sea and all the local amenities. Generous portions of food.

We ordered our meals just before the kitchen closed and one of the meals, the lamb, came out coolish and we heard others saying the same thing!

Easy to access off street parking lovely pub.

En suite in our room was tired and dated. The stair carpet leading up to the bedrooms was old, dirty and smelly. This doesn't give a great first impression.

Great location and the car park was a bonus. The staff were polite and helpful.

Having no issues with the shower, dinner menu lacking in choice

Breakfast was good, room clean and tidy, had issue with the shower which I informed reception. Location ideal for short break in the sun.

    Nothing !

Staff were well trained, friendly and helpful. It is a dog friendly hotel and that is quite unusual. We would definitely stay there again.

The bed wasn’t comfy at all. My husband has back problems and needs a firm bed. This bed was dipping both sides so he struggled a lot.

I found the stairs & corridors to the bedroom a bit stinky, a kind of old cigarette smoke and body odour mixed in to one, Maybe a freshen up of the carpet is required and a few air fresheners. Everywhere else was fine, and kept clean.

The location of the hotel is great, a few minutes walk to the beach and right on the main street of the village. Parking was free, which was a bonus. The village is quiet, with a few pubs/restaurants and a couple of shops. I would recommend The Smugglers Kitchen just over the road from the Dolphin for an evening meal. The Dolphin staff are hardworking and friendly. The restaurant food was of a good quality, breakfast was small, but tasty. The bedroom was small, but clean, and had everything we needed.

The bulb in the bathroom needs changing (it was flickering). Also soap at the sink would be nice but there is soap in the shower.

The location and size of the room was amazing. There is a limited amount of parking, but a council car park is just up the hill a bit. The breakfast staff were a lovely young group of people who took care of us. The room was beautifully clean and everything was well presented. It was so easy to walk anywhere in Beer and even walk to Seaton if you want. Easy access to the beachfront and local amenities.

Short staffed in the bar, staff worked very hard but could not keep up on occasions this lead to queues for drinks and food. The second bar needs to be open and the menu had a lot less choice than previous years.

Breakfast was excellent and staff were all very friendly. Room was fine, shower could be better.

The only gripe was the fact my room was next to the stairs, overlooked the entrance to the garden and was at the beginning of the corridor, so was occasionally a bit noisy (not too bad though)

Nice hotel - welcoming staff. Was happy with my single room and enjoyed breakfast. Also, they had space in their car park (I didn't check in until 6pm so thought I might miss out on a slot) which was welcome.
