How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The beds were way too hard! We’re just not used to that. Pillow top and fluffy comforter and fluffy pillows work better for us. Personal choice but really did not sleep well. Also draft from old windows. Older property, so par for the course, right?
Charming building. Attractive small lobby. Great neighborhood wth lots of buzzy restaurants, pubs and café’s. Near Metro. Very nice staff. Did not try the breakfast so cannot comment.

Tatty decor in places. Beds were very hard. The hotel is not disabled friendly with all the doorways and lift small.
Cleanliness. The breakfast was nice.

Would have liked some complimentary water in the room.
Excellent value for money considering location. Staff very helpful when I wasn’t happy with room allocated. Would definitely stay here again.

The lift rubber kept catching on my walking frame ,so that would need sorting out as it looked like it needed fixing ,the bath you filled it up once you got in there the water disappeared very slowly in filling up also Not enough room from the end of the beds to dressing table etc
24 hour bar staff were friendly

The room (117) faced the back of the hotel so it was quiet at night and we slept well.

When we arrived at check in only 2 rooms was ready the 3rd room was still not ready when they said waited over an hour for that it to be ready, which isn’t good when you have somewhere to be at a set time.Beds was far too hard didn’t sleep well at all.
Was friendly breakfast was nice.

Room was small especially with 3 adults but was fully aware of this when booked. I little tatty around windows. Needed some paint and replacement of net curtain

the housekeeper woke up us at 9 am even though we were able to check out at 11am. We did not appreciate. We booked 3 simple beds and we had 1 double and one simple bed

Breakfast couldn’t fault. Staff were all very nice and helpful. Room was clean, comfortable and nice, just a little smaller than expected. Bathroom was very small and disappointed by shower over bath. We did change rooms for second night and that room was a lot better and worth the price per night. Proper shower cubicle and enough room to walk around etc. would stay there again providing it was larger sized room

The bed's were very hard and I had trouble sleeping. The room was also quite small.
The staff and location were great. I asked for a twin room and was given a twin room. The hotel was clean and tidy.

The shower in the single room would be too small for a larger person. The continental breakfast - the coffee wasn't great unfortunately.
It was clean and comfortable room, with all that I needed. The staff were very nice and accommodating. It was quiet, considering it was within central london, and very close to Oxford Circus. There were nice places around it to eat.

The temperature of the reception area and the room we stayed in were far too hot day and night. Our room G1 had a very creaky bed with the slightest movement.
It was clean and well maintained and the staff were very obliging

Location excellent, staff (during cleanings) little bit noisy. It was raining ( of course London!) and no umbrella at reception, pity! Anyway money/ratio ok.

I think that the hotel is expensive for what it is, but so is most of London! I booked the hotel as I was attending a function in Grosvenor Square that evening. I wasn't in the room for long. The room and bathroom were clean and looked to be in good upkeep. All in all, the stay was fine.
