Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomReceptionist on arrival was lovely, friendly, welcoming and told us a bit about the history. Really lovely room & bathroom. Very clean. Great location by river & just few minutes walk to centre and Christchurch college. Used the park & ride that stopped 2 minutes walk away. Nice open fire. Good breakfast offered & great options for vegans.

DenmarkUnfortunately there is no lift, (I was sorry to have to bother the staff with the luggage, but they were super nice) and the pub on the ground floor can be a bit noisy in the evenings/nights. The carpet/moquette (typically English) smells old/dusty, but otherwise the room was super clean and cozy.
The property is in a good location and the staff is super nice. They helped me with my heavy luggage (the hotel does not have a lift) and were available for every request. Good food for dinner and breakfast.

BelgiumWe are used of queen or king size beds, but the one we got was 1.40m large. Very comfortable, but too small for us two. Maybe the other bedrooms have larger ones (to be checked in advance)? The bedrooms with a view on the terrace are noisy because of the single glazing and of the road just in front. The weather was fortunately still cold and the windows closed, but I guess the noise can be an issue during summertime. Not enough space to put your belongings (in the bathroom as well as in the bedroom). Only 2 coat hooks (no wardrobe, no suitcase rack). No lift (for those who have heavy suitcases... but it was not a problem for us.).
Location, charming/authentic place & bedroom, friendly and helpful staff, nice bathroom and shower, coffee/tee machines, small fridge... English breakfast & omelette, fish & chips... The terrace of the hotel was amazing, along the river, large and nicely arranged. Lots of nice walks around... (in the city, along the river or in the countryside).

United KingdomWe would have preferred the room cooler to sleep in but that is our personal preference. A fan was provided however.
Location is beautiful. We had a room overlooking the river... perfect. The staff made our stay worthwhile, friendly, respectful and had a good sense of humour.

United KingdomWe chose the comfortable room which was lovely, definitely a room for a 2 night stay minimum as there is no cupboard space, we were disappointed with the pancakes at breakfast (very odd texture!) and the roast was disappointing. There was barely any meat and so much cabbage it was a bit much. Coffee was cold both mornings too so had the coffee in my room.
Location was great, pub was lovely, good selection of drinks, room was comfortable, staff was lovely. Fry up and continental options were lovely at breakfast and good selection of drinks in the room.

United KingdomThis is not a moan, it is just a heads up for people thinking about coming to Oxford. Parking in Oxford is a nightmare so we decided to use the park and ride. We could leave the car for 72 hours for £12 and get the bus in. It works really well and would not put us off staying at this hotel again.
The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, when we arrived and throughout our stay We stayed in a “comfy room” and it was lovely. I would’ve liked a bigger bed because I’m used to that at home, but the double bed was comfortable. There was air con, and lovely smelling bathroom supplies. There was a great selection of tea and coffee, and a mini fridge The full English breakfast was amazing, and the poached eggs were some of the best that I have eaten. In the summer, the outside would have been fantastic as the hotel sits on the river. It is literally a 10 minute walk to the centre, so everything is walkable.

United KingdomThe bathroom of next door was literally in my room - kind of dog legged with my bedroom so when they decide to have a shower at 11pm was incredibly noisy (and long…!) when trying to sleep.
Location, value for money, room looked lovely and it was clean. Great bathroom and the lady on reception on arrival was incredibly polite and professional.

United KingdomThere was no shaver point in the en suite. No other downsides.
We had a room overlooking the River Thames (in flood). It was warm (depth of winter) and comfortable. The bed was comfortable. It had a creaking floor when walking but that added to the charm. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. It was an excellent location being easy to walk up into the centre of town.
