Noisy neighbours. But that isn’t something you can correct. We were in room 213 and there were marks on the walls that could do with a paint over. The laundry was delivered in the early hours and it was loud.

Bathroom facilities were above expectations. It was a lovely surprise. The room was clean and the TV was a smart one so we could watch films in the evening.

WiFi limited in bedrooms, small rooms, cheap toiletries in bathroom. No robes/slippers in room.

Used the leisure facilities, it’s was really busy but we managed to use the sauna for a bit. Very busy though. Great tea/coffee facilities in room.

Our bathroom door was damaged at the bottom. It didn’t give us trouble but just ruined the aesthetic a little. There was little we didn’t like overall- it was a good stay and I recommend it!

Liked the room and the TV as well as the view. Liked the little seating area with complimentary water, tea and biscuits (a lovely and generous touch) and the shower was also lovely. Would have appreciated new shower gel and shampoo because the writing on the bottles was worn out and couldn’t read the labels so had to guess but we made do. We even went to the restaurant (right next door) for our evening meal and it was a nice meal and time spent. Loved the breakfast options in the morning too, a full English buffet as well as cereals and continental choices and dairy free milk! A lovely stay.

Walls were paper thin, I thought someone had walked in my room when the people next door plugged something in and turned switched on, fireworks went off at gone 12:30am which I’m sure were at the hotels event venue as it was so loud and close, and the hotel is not surrounded by loads of other places. I know not in hotels control but baby next door screamed for over an hour at 4am, then in the morning I could hear the person next door coughing and even their kettle boiling. I understand some things are out of hotels control. But the main issue here is that the rooms are not sound proofed, it made my night sleep hell tbh. And I have a 7 month old myself so I know these things happen but my night away for what I was hoping for a full nights sleep ended up a worse sleep then ever. It’s a shame as everything else about the hotel was lovely.

Swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room all fab, lovely changing rooms at the spa, which self locks, nice showers, hair dryers, swimming costume spinner, bags for wet clothes, towel was also provided. Hotel room was nice too, clean, looks modern. Breakfast was also really nice. Plenty of options and all looked fresh.

Warning that fireworks would be let off around midnight outside our room, understand it was (probably) part of a wedding, but a warning would have been appreciated.

Breakfast was good and the rooms clean and comfortable. Short distance to Oswestry.

Loud noise of slamming doors from other guest rooms. Would prefer coffee bags in room rather than sachets of Nescafé.

Lovely light, clean room. Large bathroom. Lots of wardrobe space. Tasty breakfast with lots of choice. Lovely, large swimming pool with jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Great on-site Indian restaurant. Great base for exploring the Welsh border.

Clean a comfortable but disconcerting re the room card issue which left me feeling a bit shaken.

When I arrived at around 9.30pm the receptionist told me my room number at reception. I walked up a flight to the first floor and thought from the writing on the card that it was room xxx, put the card in and the door opened. The room was in darkness and then I heard a man say loudly ‘hello?’. My card had given me access to someone else’s room. I had misread the number on the card. I said ‘sorry’ and closed the door. I told reception who said that for some reason the card that I had been given was the master key for staff. I said that I was concerned about whether that means that could happen again. I would want reassurance that other guests couldn’t get into other guests rooms by mistake. Also, the patio door was very hard to open. I thought my room was to have a balcony that overlooked the canal but it was just doors that opened without a balcony structure with a table and chairs.

Clean and very comfortable bed. Breakfast was nice.

The door rattles and unfortunately very loud hearing people walking up and down stairs and hearing the cleaners next door but that was just the location of our room! The spa is ‘okay’. I did not feel it was that clean. The pool is a good length, and the sauna was a good heat. The steam room was not good and had an awful smell. The bar services did not stay open until the time is states unfortunately. This was a big let down.

The room was clean and had everything you need. Bed was comfortable. Hot and powerful shower. The surrounding area is beautiful, located on the river is a big perk!

Paper thin walls and my neighbour blasting TV until 3.30am. I heard every toilet trip through the night which was frequent. In the end I had to bang on wall about the TV. Shame really as everything else was faultless.

Was a little noisy in the night from drunk people from the wedding reception coming back to their hotel room. The Bed weren't comfortable to sleep on for me personally. The service in the restaurant was good until after dessert, it felt like we were just forgotten about and took 30 minutes to pay for our meal as everyone was too busy.

Food was good couldn't fault it, everything was clean friendly staff

No draft bitter or bottled bitter available at the bar. Had a great meal but had 10% service charge also added to our food and drinks bill nearly £30 for three of us. Went to pay then said don’t take cash ? We paid hotel reception for rooms with cash and nothing was mentioned. So we settled bar bill with cash as we had no other option. ( Apart from that fantastic )

Great locations clean tidy friendly staff.

    Needs TLC

The whole hotel is very much in need of some TLC the pool was lovely but as with the rooms needs attention, light bulbs gone not replaced, jacuzzi handrail very wobbly, took 5 lockers to get one that would lock. The first room we were given had paint hanging off the ceiling in the shower, deep marks along all the walls, mould on the voile curtains that need washing. 2nd room was a twin then the 3rd room was nice however, no instructions on how coffee machine works, the bathroom door was obviously kicked in at some point and repair not good at all. When you open the bathroom door the handle hits the glass shower surround. The shower needs regrounting. We had to move rooms twice which wasn't a great start to our stay. The staff whilst polite were just going through the motions no smiles or happy faces. The one restaurant staff girl who I can only think was a supervisor was obviously not happy that a waiter allowed us to eat at 9pm in the restaurant as she had just cleared tables ready to set up for breakfast, she then spoke to him in a rude manner when all he said was that the table he was serving would like to split the bill. Using the till to check out her eyelashes Overall not very professional. The waiter was lovely and just apologised for her attitude. Information on the pool opening hours in the room would be useful.

The restaurant was lovely, food was great and breakfast was good too. The room after moving twice was nice.
