The staff make this place, the drinks are good and the breakfast is really good, my only negative with the breakfast is, you are in Scotland so if your going to offer a cooked breakfast, make it traditional and get the beans and potato scone added to it at least. Plus I ordered the burger and chips at the bar, burger was ok chips tasted like they had been cooked in oil that had been used to cook fish as that's how they tasted and once again I know it's a hotel but for the burger and chips cost£££££ I could have got way much better elsewhere at a fraction of the cost.

Loved the red wine, bar staff and the lady who was the Manager in the breakfast area she was a diamond, reception staff excellent too. Great bed to sleep in, I must admit though, for the price I would have expected my bedroom to be pristine, unfortunately it wasn't, I inspect hotel rooms with a fine tooth comb. My room was not pristine, one of my shampoo bottles had been topped up with water you could tell immediately when you started pumping the liquid out, shower could do with a deep clean and the bed sheets all crumpled and not tucked in correctly and cup marks on the bed side units were a clear giveaway. Lovely hotel and room but I've had way much better at different hotels and for cheaper.

Lighting

Friendly staff, room was comfortable. The only thing I would criticise is the lighting in the room and in the restaurant. I could not read the menu as the lighting was so dimly lit. The decor could do with being a little brighter. However that said, we enjoyed our stay, it was well worth the money. Thank you

It was too hot and stuffy in the room and corridors. A fan was supplied but that only moves the warm air around. The windows couldn't be opened more than a fraction to let air in.

The water pressure was a little low but the building is a conversion.

The room was amazing, we were lucky enough to be offered an upgrade. The bed was huge, which is great when you are travelling. We did have some food and drinks in the bar during the evening as well. Very chilled place.

It was too hot in the bedroom. It is such a shame that the windows can’t open. And there is no air conditioning. Why can’t guests without kids open the windows ? That would resolve the issue.

The two ladies on the front desk when we arrived at 3pm on the Friday were extremely helpful - our concert had been cancelled last minute and they were able to offer suggestions on places to go in the City

Our room looked out to a building site but, there isn't a lot that can be done there as areas of the city continue to be redeveloped/refreshed. It was the weekend so there was no noise.

In the city for a couple of trips to the theatre over the weekend and we were met at reception with a very friendly welcome. Given clear directions to find our room and other facilities in the hotel. Room was nicely decorated with a very comfortable bed, spacious shower room, plenty of power points for charging phones etc. Lovely atmosphere in the bar where we returned for a drink after our trip to the theatre on the first night...delicious Banana Rum cocktail! Reception also kept our case till after our day out at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and then the Kings theatre on the second day...saved lugging bags around the city!

Only criticism is that the room was very hot. There was a fan which we had on the whole time, but it ended up circulating warm air.

Really friendly staff, we were upgraded for free on arrival which was a lovely gesture! Room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable.

Took me a while to get cold water to run from the cold tap. At first it was the same heat as the hot tap. There were issues around my dinner. I ordered from the room service menu and wanted Gluten Free, first thing I ordered, wasn't available, next thing I ordered had bread crumbs, therefore not a good idea for me so I ended up with steak and chips which was far more expensive than I wanted to spend. If you are going to offer gluten free options then you really need to have them available please!

I upgraded my room and that was great and the cost of the upgrade was very acceptable. Room was a good size and comfortable. The staff were very helpful.
