How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Television didn't work throughout stay and not action taken to repair it. Only one lift operational. There was a lot of demand for the single lift

We didnt like being given a disabled room when we didnt need it. The room a little disappointing .

There were two staff on check in when I walked in and then one left and there was a big queue so took a while. I arrived around 5ish so you'd guess that it was going to be busy checking in as they'd had a conference there too so wasn't well mananged. Only one lift was working too.
Location was great Car park directions were good and a good discount was offered

I broke a glass in the bathroom by accident on the evening we stayed. Tried calling the reception several times but got no response at all and had to leave it with a note for the cleaner in the morning. Id cut my hand trying to clear it up and couldn't find it access a dustpan or brush. My husband said h d seen a man in reception trying to get room service in his dressing gown so I assume phones were given. Having to ask for a pass to the pool was a little time.consuming too due to cues at the desk.
The pool was good but I was disappointed to find they have started charging additionally for this.

The bed was too firm for me but that is personal choice. Hot food at breakfast choice of eggs a bit limited Buffet style hot food is never as good as freshly made but very good choice of rest of food

We used the wet facilities in the spa and the steam rooms needed a good clean. Steam room smelt of mould and you could visibly see a build up of dirt in the experience rooms where they haven’t been cleaned
Fantastic location, the hotel was beautiful and had such a lovely vibe. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Room with a view was fantastic, such a beautiful hotel

Maintenance could be better, there was unpainted filler on the walls & a cracked tile in the bathroom. The bathroom was a little dated (but it had everything we needed and was very clean)
Very clean. Very spacious. Staff were welcoming. All the usual things were provided. The foyer of the hotel is lovely. Location perfect for theatres and City Hall.

Stayed there many time, and swimming pool, etc was included in the price. Now they charge £10 per per person, so not such good value anymore.

The only complaint I would have (even though it was amazing) was the spa situation. It was great however felt it was unnecessary to pay £10 pp even though we had paid for the rooms. I understand as I work in a hotel myself however I find most hotels I’ve worked at let it be included.
We loved the hotel it’s self as it was very clean and a beautiful building. The location is perfect especially as we were celebrating a birthday

Room was very warm and air conditioning did very little to help. Room decor felt a bit outdated and worn.
Great location, nice lobby/bar/restaurant area. Staff were good too and accommodated an early check in. Good bathroom and generally felt like good value.

We had two coktail drink and it did not taste good and expensive.
