How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Would have been nice to have had a bigger bed! It was a double but used to bigger double beds in other places stayed and therefore, the standard double felt smaller. Otherwise the room was absolutely fine, no issues at all.
Breakfast was excellent with a good choice, friendly service and nothing was too much trouble. I chose the porridge which was excellent. Shouldn't have been concerned about the car park. It was huge with plenty of space for guests and visitors.

Great property, could benefit from a refresh, paint etc. the chimney breast wall in our room was damp, and the stain was evident. All the rain recently hasn’t helped but this needs fixing.
Large room, with ensuite. Comfy bed. Quiet location close to Knutsford.

The water was sometimes too hot in the taps.
The Golden Pheasant is conveniently close to the motorway and we enjoyed a one night stop-over. Located near to Tatton Park which was a bonus. We enjoyed the breakfast and evening meal in the pub.

Room No 6. Faced onto both the passing road and the car park with four windows all single glazed and only one that would open and it had an outside drinking/smoker table under it. the bath has a black line of mould on two sides, The far too hot overhead shower was dangerously hot.

The pint of ale i had could have been better but thats my only gripe and probably comes down more to personal choice.
Food wad exceptional. Greeted and made welcome from the staff from the word go, even at breakfast, made to feel special. Location was lovely. Room was spacious and enough free toiletries which wad great.

Room could do with a more thorough clean. Dado rail very dusty and windows and frames needed a clean. I had great difficulty using the shower as couldn’t safely get into the bath to use it

A small fridge in the room would have been nice as water got warm. Pillow was too soft
Clean comfortable rooms quite hot in them but a fan was provided. Kettle in room for tea and coffee and 2 small bottles of water which was replaced daily, Breakfast was excellent, Nice pub garden and bar area.

We stayed in room 1 , it had a very small window and the room was hot . The pillows were too soft, even using a 2nd pillow they were still uncomfortable, we were also a little disappointed the kitchen was closed by 8pm on Sunday evening

Evening meals were expensive for its portion sizes although flavour was good. one meal was really good and the other was undercooked and gave me diarrhoea.

No lift to the bedrooms. No assistance offered to help carry cases up to the bedrooms.
Comfortable, plenty of parking, pleasant staff, great beer, sensible prices, great for staying prior to an early flight from T2 Manchester Airport.

Beds are small doubles and quite hard which was surprising considering the size of the room (really good sizes) also provided feather pillows which I struggle sleeping with. Breakfast finished at 9am.
The staff are super friendly and so lovely! Really went out their way for us and we really appreciated it! Location surrounding is gorgeous too!

Room was a bit tired looking and quite dark, weeds on the roof looking out, tv very hit and miss with reception, lighting could of been better, wasn't totally clean somebodies toenail on bathroom floor plus bit of dust behind radiator
Staff were great, everyone we had contact with was very helpful, nothing was too much trouble, bed was comfy, had a meal before going to wedding at merrydale Manor, meal was lovely as we're the staff
