There was nothing not to like.

Overall the visit was very good. One or two very minor points which have already been mentioned to the hotel. 1. The bath plug did not fit. 2. Humming from an external central heating engine. (This was dealt with). 3. We are both vegetarians and the menu was definitely for meat eaters. This was noted by the hotel. The hotel staff were excellent and could not have been more helpful whilst the cleanliness of the building was outstanding.

Not a good flush on room toilet

Staff and owner were attentive , polite , friendly and helpful . The property was scrupulously clean and well decorated . Plenty of of choice on menu and food came out quickly .

The hotel was very cosy warm and welcoming. Excellent service from all the staff, who genuinely wanted to make our stay as welcoming as possible. Excellent evening meal and breakfast. Beds were extremely comfortable and rooms clean, bright and cosy.

Very basic room for the money. Eg no valance or headboard on the divan bed. Only one small shower gel for two of us. No breakfast items on display eg cereals, fruit juice etc. We were the only guests- maybe an inconvenience.

Quietness. Lovely reception staff. Nice cooked breakfast.

The restaurant unfortunately wasn't open on the night of our stay but they did give us name's of some alternatives. The shower above the bath was good but getting in was not for the fainthearted. Anyone with any mobility issues will struggle in room 7.

A larger pot of tea at breakfast, instead of having to ask for another pot. WI FI sometimes patchy but you are in the countryside.

Large comfortable room overlooking fields and a windmill. Bathroom was very large with all amenities. Lovely breakfast and pleasant staff.

The fact that the restaurant was closed apart from breakfast. As neither of us like to drive at night now it was very difficult as we couldn't find any where to eat that didn't require a drive down dark country roads. It somewhat spoilt our holiday. We had been informed about the closure of the dining room about 2 weeks before we were due to come but as we were meeting up with several members of our family it was not possible to alter the date. Our room was nicely furnished but very small, we had to move the bed in order to be able to open the cupboard to put our clothes in!

At dinner, my partner had a starter of scollop, black pudding crumb, pork belly, only had two scollops in relation to 3 pieces of black pudding. The reverse proportion would have been expected.

Stayed over for the Heritage Live concerts. Amazing staff with great communication before and a warm welcome on arrival. Spacious hotel area with excellent bar including large outdoor area. Beautiful location near Norfolk coastline. You have to check the local area, including Bircham Windmill in walking distance. Every pulley, cog, belt and mill stone still in place and incredibly well preserved and presented. Hearty breakfast made to order and back in car with easy car park to rear. Super stay, thank you :-)

No restaurant and having to travel down country lanes for our meals in the evenings. Don’t like fixed showers.

Breakfast was good although we prefer buffet rather than having to order. Room was clean and bed comfortable and bathroom spacious.

The only downside was no air con in the room. It was a bit warm and we under the roof slope.

Very comfortable room and bed. Fairly quiet - enjoyed a much more peaceful night's sleep than some other hotels we've stayed at. Our room - and the whole hotel - was beautifully decorated (looked recently refurbished). Breakfast was excellent and service very good too. Would recommend.
