The only road up to the hotel has a lot of pit holes.

Sofa bed was a little uncomfortable for two and it is worth making more mention of the dog friendly policy (lovely but requires a little preparation for people with allergies like me!)

Our three year old daughter found a packet of prescription medicine in her bed! Looking it up, it appears a lethal dose for a child of her weight is around 2 tablets. We informed the staff and were told they were having problems with their housekeeping but no real apology. I subsequently followed up by email and the head office did not appear to know about the incident. They did however offer us "a favourable rate if we book again" but no information on how it happened or what they had done to look into it.

Convenient to have a bunk bed for the kids in the room. It was well located with the forest right at the gate. Even with a 4 and a 6 year old, by bike/balance bike it was easily within striking distance of the disused railway/cycle track. It was quiet at night. Lots of daytime space for games and chatting in the sitting room downstairs. Nice big garden.

Disappointed there was no cooked breakfast, room & some of property looked tired. Bathroom sink had issues as taps were not working correctly, getting stuck so no water coming out.

Thought the location in the forest was lovely & building was very pleasant.

Breakfast a big disappointment. I expect some. Cooked meats and cheese in a continental breakfast. I don’t eat cereal. So was left with toast. And fruit as pastries all gone I would hav3 paid a bit more money to have a proper continental breakfast. The one served does not fit remit.

Lovely bedroom with super view of garden very quiet situation. Parking very easy. Quite close to Burley village which offer more facilities very comfy bed an£ lovely thick towels.

Door locks were broken so had to leave on the latch. Not a huge problem for us but if you wanted to lovk them reception staff had to be notified to let you back in your room. This was however being resolved after the weekend.

Beautiful location. Very scenic and quiet. Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful.

What a shame that some of the hotel areas have not been upgraded and maintained in such a potentially Brilliant location . Some of the decor and soft furnishings need renewing and renovating. Bedside table had a dirty mark and hadn’t been wiped properly. The hotel seemed like it needs a input of energy and a reboot. It could be so lovely.

The shower head holder was not very good, a cheap quick fix would be easy enough. The windows did not open any more than a couple of inches which was not ideal considering the heat. No bar facilities at all, a small stocked fridge in reception would be sufficient and a nice touch.

Room was very hot partly due to weather but also towel rail was very hot on arrival. No milk replenishment may have been an error but had to ask at reception for more. Walk from car park ought to have been better lit.

Shouldn't use the term bed and breakfast when the option to book breakfast is not on this platform and breakfast isn't included. We had to pay extra for breakfast. Standard of breakfast was not great. Bread for toasting was supermarket fare. Coffee was instant. Room felt a little tired.

Great location. Peaceful at the end of an eventful day travelling. Had old world charm.
