A lot of the public areas of the buildings were fairly tired however I assume this is why it's undergoing a refurb. Our room was OK (Zebra room) however would benefit from a bit of an update, fresh lick of paint and little things like drafty windows being fixed, toilet roll holder, light next to the mirror so you can see what you're doing when having a shave. Our main issue was the first night the heating in our room didn't work and the hot water was at best tepid, we reported the issue to reception and it was fixed the next day. Once the refurbishment is complete I'd be tempted to stay again as I could see the potential for this to be a nice place for a weekend away with good food and a nice bar to relax in after a day out.

We visited the Bull during it's refurbishment (didn't realise it was being refurb'd at the time we booked) which resulted in us not seeing it at it's best. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I really can't fault their attentiveness. In my opinion there were just too few working for the size of the establishment while we stayed, which resulted in them being spread thinly between the guests of the rooms and restaurant. We ate in the restaurant on the Friday evening, the food was good and the staff were attentive however a lot of the menu items had sold out so choice was a bit limited. The areas of the buildings that had been refurbed looked cosey and fresh and the decor suited the age and style of the buildings. The new bar area looked like it would be a nice place to sit and have a drink however wasn't open during our stay.

Nothing to dislike.

Plenty of parking spaces. Easy to check in / check out. Very nice food, friendly professional staff. Very comfortable, well appointed room. Extremely comfortable bed.

Toilet was dirty on arrival but quickly cleaned by staff. Room was not made up the next day while we were out.

Meals were excellent and bar service was wonderful. It was a lovely place to stay. Good location. Overall very good.

A bit of black mould around the base of the shower - a spray or two of 'Astonish Mould & Mildew Blaster' would get rid of this.

The chilly weather in England as we live in Tenerife!!!!

Food very good. Location perfect. We met up with family and the children were welcomed. Staff very friendly and always willing to help us. All in all a very comfortable stay.

Our room was pretty poor. It was their standard double. Carpet was very dirty and had not been vacuumed and honestly needed replacing. The decor was very dark painted black. Light fittings didn't work. Shower base flooded after a few minutes use. No hairdryer as advertised. Room was incredibly hot as heating was flat out. Radiator in the bathroom was red hot and we couldn't turn it off. Overall the accommodation need a complete overhaul and updating. We realise it's a very old building but the room was tired and dirty.

Welcoming staff, really friendly and again at breakfast. The pub - dining part is very nice. The food was excellent, if a little expensive.
