Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast coffee was poor. The weather was OK so parking 10 mins away wasn't a problem - in bad weather that could have been annoying
Staff were friendly, the bar was lovely and the room was very comfortable

IrelandMy room, located off a lovely courtyard was extremely comfortable, with a great en suite bathroom. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is located on the banks of the Thames with spectacular views of the river. Breakfast was very tasty with both buffet and hot food options.

United KingdomParking arrangements in Henley are difficult. On street local is max 2 hours. The long stay at the station is 16.50 per 24 hours and 8 mins walk away. No mention of this in hotel details. Suggest guests plan their arrival and luggage logistics in advance.

United KingdomBreakfast was extremely slow and the pastries initially weren't available and then when they came out (after 40 minutes) they were burnt. The second morning they were available but burnt. A service charge was added on both mornings automatically. We were there with a group getting ready for a wedding. The staff interrupted photos and drinks to get payment, despite us all staying there so they could have added it to the room if they weren't able to wait.
Our room was nice, with space for suitcases and overlooked the courtyard

We love the traditional look of the hotel and the sympathetically modern additions. Very comfortable furniture, wonderful views and a super room. The staff were very attentive, well mannered and friendly. We would certainly return.

SwedenWe had a lovely 4 night stay at the Relais Henley. We enjoyed the stylish and comfortable room overlooking the Thames and the perfectly made to order breakfast. But the best thing about our stay was the amazing staff. Every single staff member we were in contact with was friendly, service minded and courteous. Definitely recommend staying at the Relais Henley!

United KingdomThe only fault is a lack of car parking. There was also a fault with a fire alarm, which woke me up but the staff were apologetic and it couldn't be helped.
Warm welcome from receptionist who showed me to my room. Beautiful spacious room with a view of the river. Everything was spotlessly clean and the bathroom was sparkling. There was a lovely touch of welcome plate with chocolate and strawberries. Very comfortable bed for an excellent night's sleep. I'll definitely be back.

United KingdomNothing.
Everything. We booked last minute on the day. Had a double room with ensuite and a courtyard view. Room & bathroom lovely and clean, beautifully decorated with aircon in room and heating & underfloor heating in bathroom. The location was perfect next to the river, with parking at the train station 10 minute walk away, drop off spaces outside hotel. Breakfast was delicious, excellent quality food, good choice and served until 10am with room checkout 11am so no need to rush on departure day. Hotel looks fabulous. Staff helpful & friendly.

United KingdomNo complaints at all. I stay in many hotels for work and this was one of the most comfortable hotels I have stayed in for a while. Wish I could have stayed longer!
Lovely hotel and all the staff were very helpful. I mentioned that I would love a bath (on a call about parking before I arrived) and the lady on reception ensure my room had a bath. (which was lovely).

United KingdomNo on-site parking, nearest car park (at the station) is 5-10 minute walk away but we were aware of this and had downloaded the relevant parking app before hand. However you can drop off right outside the front door. Not a dislike as such, but the cosy bar gets full very easily and appears to be popular with local business people. Believe there might be another lounge somewhere but we weren't shown it.
Room was spacious and well equipped as was bathroom. The hotel was spotless throughout. The young team were all friendly and efficient. We ate in the restaurant which was excellent. Good menu choices and all the dishes (we were a group of seven) were well cooked and presented (definitely the best hotel restaurant in Henley, possibly the best overall). There was a good ambiance in both the bar and restaurant. Breakfast was good but perhaps not to the standard of the food in the evening. Though not particularly cheap, compared to other hotels in the town it offers very good value for money

The staff were all super. Because there is no parking on site(drop off is fine),I rang the hotel before arriving, and the receptionist was really helpful explaining we could park overnight in the Rugby Club for £10. When we arrived ,we left our cases and drove the half mile (10 minute walk back) The reception then advised on local pubs, rang taxis to and from our wine tasting at Chiltern Valley. We ate in the restaurant ,great food and service. Again ,lovely staff. Breakfast the next morning was magnificent. All in all ,super stay.
