This didn’t bother us at all but I’ll mention this for the sake of future bookings. There is a sister pub-The Mailman’s Arms-next door to The Stag hotel that our room overlooked. They had a live band performing the night we stayed, and the music could clearly be heard in our room. Be aware of this, and check for live performances when booking! The band were excellent and the music serenaded us to sleep.

Staff, in particular Jake, friendly and very efficient. The room was spotlessly clean and the beds were nice and comfortable. Slept like a log. Cooked breakfast was lovely-the mushroom in particular cooked and seasoned to perfection. Hotel is in an excellent position on the main street in Lyndhurst.

Bedroom was quite hot even with the radiators turn off but great little fan provided. Normally would have a king bed but not available when booked as double was too short and small for us

This was our second visit using it as a base for the area. Great breakfast, clean and friendly. The pub offers a good choice of food. The rooms are clean and well equipped. Would recommend .

It is located on a busy A road which has a lot of traffic, and the rooms are located above a lively pub with music, which might not suit everyone. However it all goes quiet after around 11.30pm!

Convenient location for us. Good amenities in the town. Very friendly, efficient and helpful staff and owners. Spacious tastefully decorated bedroom. Lovely cooked breakfast cooked to order. Lunch and evening meals available. Crisp white linen and large fluffy white towels. Tea, coffee, milk and water replaced every day.

Dophinoise potato with my meal was not good.

Love the accommodation. We've been back here a couple of times. We love The Stag. Good food, great atmosphere and staff are very friendly.

The room was quite hot even though it was cold outside and we had all the windows open. You could also hear the noise from the bar downstairs. Very limited car parking spaces so ended up having to pay for parking at the main car park.

Great location, the food was really nice and the staff were friendly. Nice walks around the area and cute shops on the high street.

We were booked for two nights but unfortunately, due to a crisis at home, had to leave after only one night.

The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was good. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Room quite small, shower temperamental suddenly dropping in temperature at random moments unannounced.

Travelled with our Dog, staff were very accommodating, allowing dog into restaurant etc . Very Dog friendly and helpful staff. Good location in high street.

The cocktail machine wasn’t working and those passion fruit martinis are surprisingly good!

Warm welcome from the staff made a great start. Room was spacious, food was good and service was perfect. Very dog friendly. Location was ideal for us, close to forest with lovely walks for the dog and in centre of town with many shops and pubs

The double bed is 2 beds attached to eachother but not lengthways, widthways so the join comes just at your hips when you sleep, which isn't horrific but just made my back sore the next day, not a huge deal at all, but if you're plus size or a tall person it's quite uncomfortable.

Staff were all lovely and super nice, loved all the dogs that were staying there at the time, breakfast was delicious and the birds in the aviary in the garden were adorable. The view from the room was so lovely, you get 2 hair dryers, tea, coffee even green tea, no hot chocolate which I tend to prefer but that's not an issue I just brought some from a shop along the road, 2 fans in the room, lots of towels, the bar of soap is quite drying so bring your hand cream, but overall I would recommend and I will be back. If you want, cosy aesthetic village vibes stay here you'll love it. Perfect window spot for reading in the navy blue room with the beams. ❤️

We always come to the Stag when visiting family in the New Forest. It is clean and modern with a traditional feel. Food is amazing and the staff are lovely.

We were in room Beaulieu and there was lots of space, good view and ample facilities. The breakfast is also very good with good service. Great location, very central to all what Lyndhurst has to offer.

The weather wasn't nice enough to enjoy the big garden out the back!! I'm coming back in the summer!

Breakfast was great and was served very quickly. The room was tastefully decorated. It was at the front of the hotel but didn't hear the noise of the road. Lots of amenities in the room, ie hairdryer, coffee maker, fan (great for us menopausal women!). Location was great. The owners also own the pub next door and all the staff were soooo friendly and helpful. It was my birthday and they decorated my dining area with balloons and banners so made me feel very special.

There was no hot water in the morning for my shower. Weird as there was very hot water at night (even the cold water was warm, not so great for teeth cleaning). Otherwise couldn't fault the hotel, really comfortable, newly furnished to a god standard and in a great location, with parking. Would recommend and stay here again.
