Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe bathroom is quite small in comparison to the room and the shower is with a curtain. Sometimes the floor got a little wet. But this was a minor thing compared to all the wonderful experiences, food and the warmth & hospitality.
Vacation doesn't get any better! We spent a great week in this lovely family hotel. The hospitality and warmth is something you rarely find. Plus the setting of the hotel. Beautiful views over the bay and mountains, a gorgeous garden with lots of lovely seating area. A large pool and a semi-private beach with a rif in front of it, so the water is very calm. Good snorkelling as well, we saw a lot of fish and an octopus. The room was on the seaside, spacious and light. Good beds. The breakfast has so many choices and most of it homecooked ( nutella crepes temptation). You can also eat at night at the hotel in the evening. We dined 3 nights in the hotel. Sylvia is a brilliant cook and her food is some of the best we had in Crete (and she is the sweetest person). The taverna next door is very proud of their kalimari, but hers is better! Because we were late in season (second week of October) we were twice the only ones for dinner. The taverna 2 doors down is also ok and has a nice setting. At the end of the dirt road is a nice beach bar for a drink or lunch. Good cove for snorkelling and there is a dive school. Also a coastal path starts there for walking. Mimi tavern was already closed. It is nice to hang in or around the hotel with the lovely people. But is also a good location good exploration. Only 10 minutes drive from Rethymno. Good parking at the hotel grounds. We loved it there.

Belgiumnothing really just be aware of traffic noise from the highway (you won't hear much on the beach as it is located a couple of metres down)
Here you will find good old fashion hospitality, Greek style. You are made to feel very welcome! There is a semi-private beach with small pebbles and some sand that is divine. A little further West by foot you have several sandy beaches. The breakfast buffet is really yummie and very diverse. The public bus stop is almost right at their doorstep. So if you don't plan on doing daytrips you can manage without a car. (You don't even have to go out for lunch or dinner although you should at least eat once at Mimi's taverne during your stay!) Great stay for families, couples or the solo traveler. (Only the party people won't find their needs met here.)

IsraelThe beds not double at all the rooms and not so comfortable. The bathroom is old and small, must have an upgrade. The coffee at breakfast is an extra charge.
The location is perfect. 10 min drive from Rathimno, with a private beach down the stairs. 100 m' from a great Taverna. The staff was great. Make us feel at home. Mr. Kanakis is nice and he have a lovely olive oil mill with a lot of olive oil products, 10 min drive a way - very much worth a visit. The breakfast is nice with a lot of hand made cakes. For a little hotel it's worth the price

SpainFound it difficult to sleep at night because of cars at night, but I’m a light sleeper. With doors closed and a/c open maybe it’s okay.
Nice location with beautiful small beach next door. Very friendly and nice staff. Just 5’ away from an amazing tavern, so if you’re too tired to go to town for dinner you don’t really miss having to go. Clean, spacious and bright room.

UkraineEverything was perfect!
Super nice and friendly hotel staff and the owner mister Kanakis. I really didn't want to leave. As I had a birthday, they helped me with the cake and gave me so nice gifts, my heart melted. The hotel itself is really nice, has spacious rooms, white marble floors, and has very well maintained territory with amazing places to look at sunsets... Breakfasts were delicious and cooked with love. I definitely recommend this place!!!

GermanyAfter a stormy day, the beach was suddenly full of oil chunks, but was said to be going to be cleaned the other day.
Got dinner even after late arrival. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Wonderful sea view from the balcony. Beach easily accessible via stairs. The place has a parking lot.

United KingdomBeds were uncomfortable, deco in general in need of updating. Lack of additional key made things complicated as our teenage children wanted to stay in sometimes, and we couldn't have our own key to open the main door to the hotel. Mr Kanakis made our kids sometimes a bit uncomfortable. It would be better to talk to us first. In general, a great stay and highly recommended place. We would stay again!
Amazing location next to the beach and close to some nice tavernas. Swimming pool was great with a nice view over the sea. Watching a sunset with a glass of wine every day was idyllic for relaxation. Calm and peaceful to fully recharge. Lovely service from the ladies in the hotel.

United StatesYou def want a sea view room. The road can be quite loud. They need to add a water feature and a wall to soundproof a little bit. However you can NOT hear the road with windows closed.

GermanyHowever, the rooms are more suitable for hotel guests, self-catering is only possible to a limited extent. No problem: great taverns are very close!
we spent 2 wonderful weeks in Kanakis apartment. The small complex has an excellent location, is very well maintained and clean, the staff is friendly and approachable and the services (laundry service, cleaning, change of towels, etc.) works perfectly. We were very satisfied and felt comfortable.

United KingdomMaybe the internet connection, but we were able to access our Zoom Covid tests which were vital. Really not a problem.
Lovely Greek breakfast in a stunning location, overlooking the blue perfect sea. Wonderful friendly staff. A family run hotel/apartments who were willing and happy to give our extended family who were staying in a nearby villa lunch for (9 adults and 6 children). A generous and very happy place to stay.

United KingdomThe staff were very unfriendly, except for the cleaner who was delightful. They had no English, which is fine, but we never even had a smile from them. They made us feel very unwelcome.
The beach is right on the doorstep and a lovely, quiet, secluded spot that was perfect to feel away from crowds. The pool is lovely too with great views of the sea and again, very quiet for an August break.
