Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

One set of guests were intermittently very noisy. The safe in the room didn't work. In the end, I was only there for a couple of nights, so it didn't warrant mentioning to the front desk.
Antonella was extremely helpful, and the breakfast was very tasty. Great sea view from the balcony. Direct access to the sea from the ground floor. Paklenica National Park is a short walk, or an even shorter drive, from Villa Vicko.

Staff not overwhelmingly warm (not unfriendly, but also not really interested in their clients).
Great location, rooms ok, perfect for day trip to Paklenica National Park. Our room had a great sea view balcony. Breakfast very nice. Every day they prepare different little snacks, good coffee.

Beds and bedding could use an upgrade. Room decor could be spiced up a bit.
Friendly staff, great breakfast, nice garden/patio area next to seaside. Room was clean, beds and bedding were okay. Shower had excellent pressure and good temperature. Good price/value for room with breakfast. Eggs made to order.

We had to ask for a kettle/ tea making facilities which we though would be in every room.
Very clean, friendly helpful staff, close to beach front with free sun loungers. Free car parking.

The only comment to make is that the shower, while powerful and hot, was positioned strangely. It was within the bathtub, but instead of facing the long length of the tub, it faced sideways and was a little awkward.
Villa Vicko is situated in a pretty little costal town, which is UNESCO listed and identified as one of the oldest towns in Europe. The villa faces towards the ocean and provides direct access to the little harbour area, which has small piers (presumably originally for fishing boats), which are used as points for swimming and other water activities. There are little coves of pebble beaches along the routes, and the vibe is generally quite relaxed. The room was lovely and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Villa Vicko offers a beautiful selection for breakfast, and this was probably the nicest breakfast selection that we had on our whole 2 weeks travelling Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia Herzegovina. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and offered beach towels for swimming in the sea. I would recommend this as a lovely place to stay, with a beautiful and relaxing area with plenty of nice restaurants within a couple of minutes walk.

I only think that the rooms could be a little bit updated, with new furnitures and bed sheets, that looks more modern, it would definitely be a 10.
The position was the best, 5 minutes from the center and bus station, 1 minute away from supermarkets and restaurants. In addition to that, the beach was right under the hotel, and we had the opportunity to have a beach towel and chairs to lay on. The beach was quiet, a lot of trees and clear water. The receptionist was very nice to us, gave us useful infos about our stay in Paklenica. The room was also very clean and big.
