How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

No plug outlets on the wall near beds. Very inconvenient. Restaurant food was mediocre.
Comfortable beds, free shuttle to airport were important, abd Carlton delivered. Bar abd restaurant on site is convenient.

Having to pay for parking daily. The attitude of the restaurant staff. Was seated before a group of 3 came in. Was ignored and that group served before me. Had to get up and request before being served.
The location was great . The room was lovely. The reception staff were wonderful.

Had issues with hot water, which wasn’t dealt with very well. Handle came off in my hand so ended up having 2 cold showers, too late to report. No hook for towel in bathroom, couldn’t get USB sockets to work.
Clean, tidy, food was fantastic, good facilities

Paying for the carpark. Never stayed in a hotel that you had to pay to get out of the carpark.

I asked for a quiet room, on arrival was given a room with communicating door and loud guest shouting on the phone next door which I could hear thru the communicating doors as if it were in my own room. After much hesitation as I hate to be "that guest", I finally went back to the reception and was given another more acceptable room politely and efficiently by the front desk staff. I did pre-check-in but still had to wait for 2 people to finish checking in procedures (they hadn't done the pre-check-in), so it didn't save me much time.
Very comfortable beds, good shuttle service every 30 min from the airport 24 hours, on-site restaurant is nice to have. Front desk personnel were efficient and helpful. Good idea to have pre-check-in to save time. Bar has a great selection of on tap beer.

Room temperature was uncomfortably high probably because the air conditioning controls were not accurately calibrated . Who I adjust the temperature to 15 degrees C, every thing was fine.
Staff were great. Slight confusion at front desk resulted in an Upgrade. Great room on 3rd floor. Lovely long tub as well as great shower. Downstairs restaurant had excellent service and good food. Easy transfer to and from airport.

Ireland is too expensive for what you get, food, travel,accommodation, taxis. I've met many travellers who do not view Ireland as a competitive tourist destination and are avoiding it. There are much better options elsewhere and superior facilities for half the price. In addition the weather is cold damp and uninviting. The view from my room consisted of a large skip full of discarded building material. I believe Irelsnd has a small population and a very poor supply chain hence the exhorbetent Euro prices everywhere
Nice airport hotel as they go, good shuttle service to and from the airport. Friendly staff. Room was comfortable.. Staff are lovely although they appear a little bit disinterested.

Room while clean showed signs of wear.
Close to airport, shuttle available. Dinner was excellent, breakfast was good lots of selection. Complimentary chocolates and wine were a nice touch.

A small bottle of wine for one with one glass was left for us in the room for 2 adults. Why one?

You have to pay extra for parking even for guests expensive food.
Really nice hotel close to airport but no aircraft noise, frequent free shuttle to airport. Nice free gifts in room chocolate & wine
