Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOur only criticism was that the lovely bar didn't open a little later in the evenings when we would have enjoyed a quiet drink before heading to bed. That said, this was a very minor criticism, and completely understandable if there isn't an event happening in the sports arena.
The hotel was a most pleasant surprise. On the approach, we were unsure of where the hotel lay within the facility, but upon speaking to the friendly reception staff and being shown our room, we were very impressed.

BelgiumThe room was very noise, and the bathroom fan could not be silenced during the might. The place was not the cleanest, I forgot to ask for slippers (according to the boolet available upon request) upon check-in and it was too late to ask after 22.00. The shower's cable was too short.
Location, price, overall infrastructure and functionality.

BelgiumThe entrance is located in a rather deserted spot which may not be so pleasant in the evening when the sport center is closed.

GreeceTram stop was very near, but the rooms are far from the reception and feels very dark to return alone at night to the rooms that are underground. Using the facilities for the sports related should be great, but for work purposes it was not as ideal.

United KingdomI'd like to have been able to check-in (or at least leave my luggage) much earlier.
The location is perfect for sporting events at the arena, excellent for EU parliament activity and good for the city centre thanks to the continuous trams.

AustraliaHotel room section so far away from reception. (Reception at the sports entrance.) We were at the last rooms, long, long corridor from hotel entrance. Would be better if the underground connection was open earlier and closed later, had to keep going outside in the snow/rain to get to reception.
Trams stop right outside. Good breakfast. Quiet. Decent size room.

GermanyRooms are in the basement, i.e. there is not much of a view and restricted daylight. If you arrive later than 22:00 hrs, make sure you call the hotel because the facility closes at that time but the security service will let you in. It's a bit distant from the city center but hey - Luxembourg is small and the public transport (tram) is free.
The hotel is unique as it is part of a big sports and swimming facility. Rooms are clean with standard comfort, personnel is very friendly. As a guest, the 50m swimming pool can be used for free and the very nice spa for a lesmall extra payment. As it is is in Kirchberg, it is mainly convenient for business travellers visiting the EU organisations around. Compared to the other hotels around it is affordable and real value for money.

IrelandThe room wasn't cleaned properly, when I told reception they sent the room service to clean the bathroom and gave me extra towels and it was quick. The hotel is separate from the main entrance. The sound insulation is not ideal because could hear the people passing by the door, but overall it was quiet. The access to the main building from a hotel could be left open instead of closing one part of it, was a bit confusing at first finding the main entrance to a hotel and the room, but got used to it quickly.
I liked the breakfast, fresh meat and cheese, pastries, jams, honey, different baked breads, and coffee machine, salmon - it was lovely. There were extra water bottles. They gave me a swimming cap for the pool but I had my own. The access to the swimming pool was a plus. The size of the room and close to the tram, although after a certain time, I had to walk around in the dark to the tram. They should definitely put more lights around there. Most people were very professional, a bit of a language barrier but I found people helpful. Value is good in comparison, getting a pass to the swimming pool, a nice breakfast and a big room are all the pluses. Had to show my ID or passport upon check-in and complete a form with my passport number and a few other details.
