Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IcelandPeople wake up early to reserve beach chairs even though I was one of the first to actually be there for the beach at 8am. Cleaning staff took my personal carry on bag thinking it was a gift before I checked out on the last day and proceeded to open a gift inside. It was returned to me. Hanging around the pool in clothes, you're going to smell like a BBQ.
Food was good. Facilities were in good shape. Staff were attentive and welcoming. Beach was nice. Classes offered were fun.

United KingdomOn arrival we were shown to what is probably the worst room in the hotel within the block which has not been refurbished - that would be the small terrace with the brown tilled floor on the ground floor as shown on the image. We refused the room and we were immediately taken back to reception (this obviously happens a lot) and we were then given a Master Suite on the 3rd floor in a different block - see other photo. I should mention that a Master Suite is what we had booked! The attempt by the NYX to offload its non-refurbished rooms is disingenuous and they should simply close the block and get on with the refurbishment. I see from other comments that this 'mix-up' in rooms happens often; there are no images of these very dated rooms on their website and there should be. Booking a hotel room should not be a lottery. This underhand behaviour by the front desk rather sullied our five day stay at the NYX. Not kind to staff! What a load of nonsense, we simply said we did not wish to wear the wristbands - we are not children; nevertheless, we kept them our persons at all times and we were certainly not unpleasant to the front desk - if anything they were generally disinterested in guests and acted as though they were doing us a favour by changing our room. We simply refute that the room we were first shown was a Master Suite, and your response is facile. We challenge you to post the images of these sub-standard rooms on your website so that guest can decide, and we note with interest that you make no comment on this core element in our review. The continued the lack of any images for your non-refurbished rooms says it all.
Staff are very nice. The facilities, location and price are commensurate with the price.

United States of AmericaIf all you want is to eat and lie in the sun, this is the place to do it. While the cultural attractions the likes of Chichen-Itza and Coba are relatively nearby, and there are countless operators that will take you there, they are really too far and it's hardly worth the time in traffic necessary to get there, and then having to admire the Maya monuments following a herd of never-ending procession of tourists disembarking constantly arriving tour buses bringing yet more tourists.
The room was nice but nothing out of the ordinary. The view of the bay and busy highway with a panorama of a row of hotels in all directions is the nature of the Zona Hotelera. Certainly not a paradise. The beach with a white sand is nice, as I expected; the sea with powerful waves is impressive, alas with knee-high depth useless for swimming. The breakfast is excellent, the buffet selection lavish.

CanadaOur first room wasn’t good, they had a dehumidifier to tackle the smell of mould which wasn’t great. Once we moved rooms it was great. The food at the beach bar was hit and miss. The constant entertainment at the pool was a bit much for us

NetherlandsIt was really hard to book a table in the hotel restaurants, we had to wait 2 days.
There is a very rich breakfast, a great beach, and amazing restaurants at the hotel. The rooms are big and have a variety of rooms, they do give lots of free upgrades upon arrival (off-season)

FranceThe traffic noise lagoon side. You will need earplugs on the lower floors, but my advice would be to book a pool or sea view (worth it). I thought the lagoon view would make a change, but didn’t realise essentially on a highway that has a lot of traffic all night. We changed rooms.
The beach and pool areas are lovely, and the staff are - without exception - helpful and good natured. Comfortable beds, great showers. Catering was excellent and the all inclusive option well worth the money. Excellent gym.

United States of AmericaI would have liked better night entertainment, not much to do at night on location. They did theme night for the food, Italian, asian, etc., but still not a lot of variety, lunch menu did not change. Personally I would have like more authentic Mexican must of the time.
Staff was very friendly and always helpful. An exceptional section of beach. Spacious and clean. Plenty of places to sit or lay. Modern clean facilities. Rooms were good, much as expected. My room developed a problem and within an hour I was move to another much better room. Food was of good quality.

United KingdomFood options weren't great - dishes were left under the hot plate for a while so came out a little cold. However restaurant staff were very good.
Wasn't as big as other hotels so felt a bit more secluded. Good location and 30 min walk to coco bongos. Got upgraded to a lagoon view room due to availability which was lovely!

United KingdomWe spent the last leg of our Mexico trip at NYX, 5 nights all inclusive. It is an average all inclusive hotel at best Staff generally can’t be bothered to help you Reception staff- - first time we messaged to say our room 2306 was ridiculously loud at night only to be moved up a floor to a bigger room (two roomed suite vs our 1 small room) that we had paid for as a sunset suite, to be told “oh yes last week someone complained about how noisy that room was but they loved this room we are going to move you to” - this isn’t what you want to hear on your honeymoon. - secondly booking a taxi, we wanted to prebook as they had reached out and told us we could do so on booking.com only to be told it is quite long for them to fill out the form to do it (I believe this was Olivier) and that it would be easier for them if we just hailed one on the day, again this is not the level of service you should expect and nothing should be too much trouble, especially something little as booking a taxi - food service in deck and breakfast - the waiters think anything is an inconvenience I asked for hot water for myself and my husband in the morning in addition to a coffee and he was huffing telling us we already had one drink? We’re on holiday let us have two hot drinks! Consistency of service is also off, you don’t always get served the same sometimes you’ll get different drinks, stronger, different ingredients there is no consistency - it is pure luck if you’re on the beach whether your order will turn up we ordered food and drinks and it is like the lottery. Sometimes it’s much quicker to just go and get it yourself Food at deck is no better than a snack bar, expect mostly cold or tepid food especially chips and rice what are probably batch cooked and just spooned out when you need them. If it was a restaurant that we pay per trip (although I guess technically we are paying!

PanamaThere was an issue with the electricity, spent about 10 hours without electricity and the hotel had no will to help or accomodate us. Imagine since 4pm passed 8am with no electricity in the room, no ac, no bath light, had to sleep with the balcony door opened while it was raining. No apologize no explanations no nothing from the hotel management.
The kitchen staff, common areas and the beach club were great.
