The hotel which is located in relatively unspoilt forest about 30 km West of Puerto Morelos on the Ruta de los Cenotes consists of a number of cpmfortable bungalows bulit in the Mayan style around a small swimming pool and a restaurant serving simple but tasty meals and drinks. This makes it an ideal base for exploring the nearby cenotes, the coast between Cancun and Tulum (including Cozumel) the Mayan sites of Coba and Chichen Itza. I was travelling alone on a birdwatching trip but the hoel was clearly popular with couples and families seeking to explore the Yucatan penninsular away from the resort areas. The complex is run by a lovely couple, she is Mexican and he is French, who are trilingual (French, Spanish & English) and for whom nothing is too much trouble. An added bonus for me was that the grounds of the hotel turned out to be very good for birdwatching with a nice range of resident species and winter visitors from North America.

Our bungalow was great. It was spacious and nicely decorated. We loved that it was a private place in their beautiful jungle. The owners and staff were very welcoming and took good care of us. I arrived very overwhelmed at this place because the truth is I didn't pay attention when I made the reservation, I just made sure it said: Puerto Morelos. It was difficult and expensive for me to get there because I didn't rent a car or reserve transportation. Big mistake! Please make sure to schedule your transportation in advance or rent a car. As soon as I arrived my frustration disappeared, not only because of the fantastic place, but because of the attention of its owners. Nedda and Dino made me feel welcome and supported me with their attention. I left the place feeling that I owed them much more than I paid. If your thing is an eco hotel in the middle of the tropical jungle, this is your place! Marvelous! I would have liked to be able to stay more days.

Not a lot

Really enjoyed the peace of the location and the warm welcome we received. Nice walks in the forest with stunning butterflies and wild monkeys. They also help with information on birds if you are interested. Don’t expect 5 star luxury but saying that the food is great and the accommodation clean and has what you need.

I went in late October which is off season, so I was the only guest outside of the staff, which honestly wasn’t a bad thing at all, it was kind of a good thing for what I needed, just felt a bit weird being the only patron somewhere.

I have always wanted to visit and stay in a Jungle and I was able to here. I was in the pool or hammock amongst all of the trees and could hear the monkeys and other wildlife, which was phenomenal. I slept so well because of those sounds. There are tons of walking trails and I walked some and wished I had had more time to explore the entire place, but instead I went right down the street to Extreme Adventures Cancun and did an excursion.

No airco in the cabin, electricity was up and down for a part of the night, which resulted in the fans shutting down and starting up again for well over 2 hours. This was fixed though in the middle of the night. Below average matress.

Very friendly and helpfull staff, lovely setting in the woods, nice swimming pool and excellent food at night. Large queensize bed (often difficult to find in Mexcio). Mosquito nets provided.

We saw plenty of birds but unfortunately no monkeys - please see this with some humor if you are considering staying there, all good though

The hostess was trying her best everywhere - there were some problematic staff members but she really tried to make our trip comfortable. She even took us to the nearest city when the taxi failed to arrive. Basically, this is a superb place to stay if you have a car and not as convenient if you are dependent on taxis or buses.

An extraordinary place set well into the jungle. The rooms are actually individual bungalows, each quite separate. The common dining area is wonderful, very much part of the environment. The food is the best we had anywhere in Mexico.

We had the most relaxing time and can well recommend this place that had been created with so much love and positive energy. The hosts were the most lovely and helpful people. We loved Dino's cooking: mexican cuisine but with french influences accompanied with classical music was exceptional, playing pool and chess at the clubhouse was great. Seeing monkeys and aguti's right by the cabin was great. No need to leave during the day. Slight issues with the checkin had been kindly compensated with a bigger and most comfortable suite. Preferable to have a vehicle to get there, but there are buses that pass by every hour. Good planning is needed as there are no services close to the lodge for several km. Although the lodge try to generate its energy from solar panels as much as possible, it if not sufficient and a generator needs to run for a few hours a day.

This is my second visit to Jolie Jungle, and I was not disappointed again. This is a perfect place for birdwatchers - all the units are surrounded by lush jungle with a great variety of birds, and they are all well apart from each other. I'm up to 116 species of birds on their property or less than 2 km around it. The club house has a nice selection of games (board games, giant chess, pool, ping-pong), and the pool is nice. The owners are very friendly and speak Spanish, English and French, and the rest of the staff is very friendly as well. The food served is excellent.

To no fault of their own there had been an issue with the pool the days before we arrived so it was only being filled again by the time we got there. You could tell how genuinely sorry they were for this inconvenience but it’s how situations are handled that is most important, we were offered free entry to a local cenote to compensate, and a room upgrade to a fabulous suite with a roof top terrace, we could look at the clear skies at night lit up by stars, to me that is more memorable than splashing in a pool for a few hours and the kids loved it. by the second day we were able to use the pool which was half filled.

Wonderful relaxing stay in the jungle. Jolie Jungle is so peaceful. The biggest highlight is the wonderful people who work tirelessly to make your stay perfect. The welcome you receive is exceptional and you are made feel part of their family, you can tell they truly love what they do. we travelled as a family and we had such a great time spotting wildlife in the jungle and chilling out in the club. The food is fabulous and they are always willing to accommodate your needs. We had no car so we didn’t leave the jungle for 3 days and there was no need to. Big shout out to Miguel, he went above and beyond to make our stay extra special, he is so attentive and it is very clear he loves what he does, thank you Miguel and Jolie Jungle for giving us an unforgettable experience!

My partner and I checked into Jolie Jungle for 2 nights before beginning our travels From start to finish the hosts, and all the stuff, were nothing but helpful - going above and beyond in ensuring our comfort. The airline lost our bags, and the owner travelled to town to try and speak with the airline for 2+ hours as there’s no signal in the jungle. You can really tell that she cared about our welfare! While here we really loved relaxing in the hammocks amongst the sounds of the jungle! They also catered extremely well for us considering I’m a meat eater and my partner is vegan. Warning: if you really don’t like bugs then this isn’t the place for you. It’s not just a name - it’s genuinely in the jungle!

An amazing place in the middle of the nature, we saw spider monkeys and alot of wild birds. It was very luxurious and comfortable! The hosts were so friendly and warm we had a lot of nice conversations. The food was the best we had in Mexico! it was Mexican food with french influence. We would definitely love to go again 😍
