Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaSanta Cecilia Hotel is a small gem of a hotel located in the fascinating Xochimilco neighborhood of Oaxaca, the oldest neighborhood in town. There are gorgeous colorful houses and priceless murals in the Mexican tradition all around. The hotel itself is simple yet beautifully decorated with an artistic eye that combines style and sustainability. The brother/sister team who run Santa Cecilia Hotel are incredibly gracious and friendly, and stop at nothing to meet any need. In addition they provide access to a clean, safe and inexpensive taxi service on an day. Drinking coffee as I enjoyed a gorgeous view from the rooftop terrace was as good as it gets. The hotel is a 20-25 walk from the core of the Centro district, along one of Oaxaca's best streets, Calle Rufino Tamayo, which becomes Calle de Manuel Garcia Vigil, lined with galleries and high-quality arts & crafts shops

SlovakiaThere was a dog on a balcony right next to us in the neighboring property that kept barking. The location wasn’t super convinient but it was good enough! The shower was odd, it took like 5 mins for water temperature to change and the preassure was not great.
It was super clean, rooms were nicely decorated, the whole hotel felt very private and modern. Pretty, colorful and a lot of natural light. There is also a restaurant on the top floor which has great views, serves great food and is just epic!!! Super nice!

Beautiful and quiet hotel in a beautiful quarter of Oaxaca (lots of beautiful streeart and some nice appearing Cafes and Restaurants nearby). The room itself was spacious and very clean, beds comfortable. The hotel offers free coffee and water and the have a nice roof terrace. LithuaniaIt's a bit far from the city center. The hotel is new, but some things just don't make sense and could be improved, shower isn't great and the bathroom door doesn't close. They provide tours, but you can get it cheaper in the city as they charge you extra.
The place is new

This is the most lovely little hotel which we loved everything about. We were busy exploring oaxaca so didn’t spend a huge amount of time there but the room was dreamy and the staff so lovely. I can’t wait to come back to oaxaca and would definitely stay here again. The neighbourhood was perfect, a bit out of the main town but an east walk. Beautiful coffee shops and bakeries along the way not to mention all the amazing street art.

CanadaUnfortunately, the house next door has a dog on the roof that is abandoned to its fate and the hotel does not respond to the situation of the poor animal that spends its time barking and crying all night, making it difficult to sleep and not think about the suffering of the animal
The hotel and the rooms are nice and clean, the restaurant does not have good food and it is impossible for the chef to be the cook, waiter and cashier during breakfast, maybe a little help would improve the service and food.

Great front office staff and cleaning staff. They were always knowledgeable and accessible. I like the location. I walked to my Spanish language school and city center in 15 or 20 minutes.

United States of AmericaNo gym or pool (It wasn't advertised so just flagging!) Wifi was iffy. No bathtubs (even though the listing said "shower or bathtub"). This should just be clarified. Cold at night during winter (no heat) -- but they did provide extra blankets when we asked.
Great people. Quiet location. Free papaya for breakfast :) Chic design and overall cozy and comfortable.

United Kingdom- on arrival reception tried to give us an inferior and cheaper room compared to what we'd booked via Booking.com. Had we not flagged it to them, we would have been stuck - I am sure it was only an honest mistake - providing guests with a free water cooler is a nice touch but not when it's right outside the door to your room and the other guests form an orderly queue to it first thing in the morning like animals descending to a water hole
- quiet location if your room faces the "river" and not the street. Please be mindful that there is not much water in the canal and it's mainly raw sewage so air the room at your discretion and you won't spend much time on the balcony either - peaceful inner patio, walkable neighbourhood from town - great level of cleanliness and functioning wi-fi
