How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Busy and noisy road

The restaurant is rather small. No seats available at peak times for breakfast
Location is good, everything you need is within walking distance- transportation, restaurants, street market and other businesses. Fast and convenient connection to Central station via tram. Coffee machine in the room is great!

The balcony was shared with other room . It was not private A lot of noise at night. The walls are really thin because we could hear a guy in the other room snoring and the steps from the ones above us

The room was relatively small - but for the price it is understandable. The internet connection was too uncertain.
Excellent breakfast. Location is good, trams for public transportation are close. Supermarket is close. District is safe and friendly.

We found the rooms are smaller than standard. Strict with check in and check out time.
Very close ro central location. Connected to central station with tram no 4 in 15 mins. Double bed room with balcony and well equipped. Good breakfast available at 15 euro.

The strange lip out of the bathroom, I stubbed my toe aha.
I asked for an iron and the reception were very attentive. Nice and simple check in and check out

- Size of the room is quite small for 3 of us. - We had a cool first night as we did not know that the electrical heater has to be turned on manually. We got much more comfy second night with that activated. - There was only a few TV channels. It would be great to have more channels for kids for example.
+ Location: It is very close to public tram 3 and 4, close to supermarkets and lots of bars/restaurants. + Hospitality: The staffs were very nice - it was easy to communicate. I got help from a lady to fix the safe box in my room and got offered free breakfast on the Kings Day :) + We got a room with view toward the street - we enjoyed watching people and daily life activities from our room :)

Room was a bit small or maybe too small , but no issues
Very comfortaabke bed, didn’t love the room at first but really liked it by the end of stays great location , really good price, to any other comment saying bedbugs we looked really hard and didn’t find any. Would stay here again if travelling on a budget. The best part is the beds. Didn’t get a chance to try the breakfast.

No cutlery or microwave in the room Other guests complained of mice in their room The room is tiny It is impossible to adjust water temperature in the shower - either boiling hot or freezing cold The staff are not that nice, wasn’t even welcomed when came to check in Towels are very thin
The location is fine, easy to get to the city center by metro, bike or train One of the cheapest options one can find in Amsterdam Rooms cleaned every day

The room needs some renovation - the wallpaper was unglued at places, there was leakage in the bathroom, the toilet lid was moving all sides as if it was not properly set, also the bathroom door was broken. The room was not good cleaned (especially the bathroom was in terrible condition) and during our stay (4 nights) they cleaned only once - the day before we leave. In the room were left two coffees and we had no refill for 3 days until someone came to clean.
The breakfast was great, the staff were very kind and the location was good.

I thought this was a good location, not too central but it’s easy enough to walk to the centre or get the tram. The staff were friendly and the room was basic but it’s exactly what we needed, can’t complain.
