No fridge in the room. Not big issue, but definitely place for improvement.

Location, the way the camp is organised with the beautiful bungalows (air conditioned), great dinner, really good breakfast with real coffee (not that common in Oman), it is great spot in the heart of the desert only 20km from the Village.

Activities are extremely expensive. The pickup is way too expensive since it’s only 15 mins drive and fuel is so cheap, this should be offered complementary

Beautiful location at the far end of the dessert. Beautiful huts. Very good dinner and breakfast - the staff was really courteous, we got plenty of extras when we asked for more (water, meat…) In the evening there is nice star gazing and they also play a movie, which we appreciated

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is very nice in the middle of the desert. You can go to a higher viewpoint on your own to see the surroundings. The food was also very tasty.

Food options were limited, though that’s understandable given we visited during the peak summer heat when the camp had fewer guests.

Camp offered the perfect balance of comfort and authenticity. Surrounded by endless dunes, it was peaceful and quiet, ideal for disconnecting. The tents were clean and well-equipped, with AC in the chalets and great local food. Sunset walks on the dunes were a highlight. A great way to experience Wahiba Sands without the crowds!

Wifi doesn’t reach the rooms, only lobby/dining area. The transfer price is a bit too high.

The camp is very nice, especially the dining area and the open cinema. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. Food and barbecue were very tasty.

The activities are quite expensive, and it’s not a traditional Bedouin camp (more of a hotel-style setup) but that’s expected as it’s part of the Sama group.

The camp is well located - you can easily walk to the dunes for sunset or sunrise, which are really beautiful. The staff is friendly and the facilities are great, with nice open spaces and even an outdoor cinema.

    Plastic bottles

An oasis in the desert we loved it, improvement could be plastic reduction and available water. Reachable by 4x4. We took the evening dune car tour and was amazing, worth the money. Arrived after 4 pm and left early morning the heat was ok at the end of April.

Les canettes de soda sont données sur demande. C'est un peu limite.

We stayed two nights at Sama Al Wasil Desert Camp — originally thinking it might be too much, but it turned out to be the perfect amount of time to unwind and enjoy the desert vibes. The atmosphere is peaceful, calm, and truly feels like you're in the middle of nowhere (in the best way). We loved seeing camels roaming freely and catching the sunset from the dunes. The Bedouin concert was a lovely cultural touch, and watching a movie under the stars at the camp added to the charm. The rooms were surprisingly comfortable, much more than we expected for a desert camp, and everything was clean and well maintained. Just a heads up — getting rid of the sand is a bit of a mission, so pack accordingly and plan your outfits with that in mind! Meals were decent and varied each day — nothing fancy, but definitely good enough. Breakfast and dinner both had enough options, and the buffet format kept it casual and easy. Getting there at night was tricky — especially for a first-time desert drive. We recommend arriving during daylight and with a proper 4x4 SUV, as the sand roads can be confusing in the dark. All in all, it’s a great spot if you're looking for an authentic yet comfortable desert experience, without the overly touristy feel. Would recommend!
