Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalLa Casona Real was a dream. The property is beautiful (and full of history) and the bedrooms are incredibly comfortable. The staff was out of this moon and really thoughtful (I celebrated my birthday there and they even went into the trouble of providing a slice of cake for us to celebrate). We were there for several nights in a trip to Cusco with lots of challenges and ups and downs. I can say that every night when we arrived at La Casona it felt like arriving home, into a safe place. And this is the best feeling you can have while traveling, isn’t it?

United KingdomThe hotel was a little old in style, but this did reflect the building! It was a little noisy with the club/bar next door, but still worth the stay!
The hotel was in a great location within seconds of main square! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful! They even arranged take away breakfast due to our 3am departure for a tour! The kingside bed was also a bonus!

United StatesThis property is located on a narrow street and right across from a small nightclub. Because the walls are thin in older buildings, we could hear the music until 4am. Not bad unless you’re a light sleeper.
This is a charming, historic hotel located off the main square. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean and the staff was super friendly. Breakfast was included.

United StatesIt was located across from a small night club and because this is an older building with thin walls, we heard the music all night. It seemed to go until 4am. Not horrible, but if you’re a light sleeper it was noticeable.
The hotel was historic and ideally located off the main square. The staff was warm and friendly, the rooms comfortable and a really nice little sitting area with tea available all day. Breakfast was included.

United KingdomEverything was fabulous
The staff were incredibly helpful, at first we were not completely happy with our room and the staff did everything they could to answer our demands and make our stay as wonderful as possible. Cusco is a fabulous town with amazing places to discover within very easy reach of this superbly located central hotel. A totally safe area, in the middle of historic Cusco but quiet and secure. A beautiful courtyard is at the centre of the hotel. A very generous breakfast or if you are leaving early on a tour a breakfast to take with you in a bag. I can't fault this hotel it was wonderful and exceeded my expectations. Thank you.

United StatesThe location it’s really good because it’s in the middle of everything you will need to see in Cuzco, but because it’s right there you will hear all the mess from outside. I even heard about this before booking but they said: we will put you in the third floor”. It didn’t work that well BUT!!! a lot of the things to do in Cuzco are hikes or walks or trips to the archeological sites, so you will be exhausted or super tired or you will need to wake up early. Even if you are really light sleeper like me, this is the best place in Cuzco (best restaurants around, walking distance of everything to see)
The hotel it’s amazing, the staff it’s sooo helpful with everything. The girls from breakfast know your order before you ask anything.

United StatesNot a terrible issue, but a taxi cannot enter the alley and drop you off at the front door. You will likely need to walk a small amount. Our room was on the ground floor and had not outside windows but we got some light from the courtyard. Not an issue since we were out all day anyway.
So close to Plaza de Armas in a tiny alley near excellent restaurants. The women at the front desk were very helpful, setting up a taxi tour of nearby sites for us. lLaundry was also available and we got our clothes back the same day. Lovely, quiet hotel. Great breakfast with omelets.

United StatesThe only minor thing to notice was that because the hotel is located near town center, at night there was some noise from the bars on the street. But this would be a cost of staying in the town center and the hotel did do their effort to install a thick sound-proofing door on the balcony to help reduce the noise.
Location: Perfect, right by the main plaza and several top-rated restaurants. logistics became so easy. Facility: Elegant and clean. The hotel is on a 90-years old historical building, with a beautiful courtyard. We had a quadruple room which was spacious and comfortable. Staff: the best part of the hotel! We don’t speak Spanish but Angela at the front desk gave us a lot of help before, during, and after our trip. From early Check-In, to taxi arrangements, to luggage storage, to local visit advices, Angela made our visit so much easier and enjoyable. Thank you Angela!

SpainThe only thing I can comment on was the temperature in the dining area for breakfast. It was far too cold!
Very friendly and helpful staff!! I arrived early morning and they supplied hot tea/coffee and let me into the room before check in time. Freshly cooked breakfast! Great wifi connection in rooms. They also safely stored some of my belongings while I went away on a 4 day tour without any extra charge. Highly recommend!

United StatesEven though I had an inner facing room, you can still hear the bass coming from the club right across the alleyway. Still need to use earplugs.
Very kind and quick check in. They gave me tea and accommodated my request for a quiet room. The room was very grand and spacious. Lots of room to organize my stuff and clothes. Bathroom was acceptable. Breakfast was nice (fairly typical Peru style). TV with Amazon Prime and Netflix was amazing! And they gave me a bag lunch for the days when I left early on excursions and it was delicious. I would stay again!
