Outdoor pool bar and food kiosk was closed for first 2 days but opened up for the spring / summer on the 3rd day

The indoor pool is small, small kids have their day....We were there off-season, and the traffic was picking up, in the season it must be a bit too much. There lacked a few things in the kitchen and the pan was pretty used. But all in all quite ok.

Very good cleaning, polite staff, spacious apartement, fine area - clean and orderly - like living in the botanical garden, gym was ok, fine outdoor pools - a bit cold in March :-), nice to sit outside on the terrace

It is close to a number of golf courses but about an hours walk to the Marina. There is a shuttle bus however this is not in continuous service but spaced two hours apart in the morning a gap of 4 hours in the afternoon and then once per hour in the early evening. Uber is very efficient and relatively cheap.

As Cascatas is part of the Vilamoura Hilton Hotel. It specialises in apartments. They are slightly dated but large very clean and serviced everyday. The towels are big and luxurious. They have dishwashers,microwaves plenty of seating and comfortable beds. The gardens are lush and well kept.

This is our second time staying in As Cascatas, the Hotel staff are very friendly, the apartments are spotless and really comfortable with plenty of space. We love the outdoor & indoor pool area. We also enjoyed The 7 Spa of Hilton Villamoura.

It was a struggle to get the apartment warm. Had to call reception to get heat working in bathroom. The heat in bedroom and kitchen did not produce heat. The heat dial in living room points to opposite direction for heat. After 4 days of cold the apartment finally got heat. Could not figure out what pods to use on coffee pot. None of the standard pods worked. Asked receptionist who also was unaware. There are no stores, shops or anything in this residential area. The Hilton is in walking distance. Fortunately we had a car which was much needed. There are no facilities (not even a vending machine on site). You have to walk to Hilton (and pay Hilton prices) for a bar or restaurant. Despite the apartment has an outstanding kitchen you will need to travel by car to fill up the refrigerator.

The size of apartment. Very large living room, large bedroom and kitchen. It was like 3 apartments in one. All rooms had access to outside. Liked the Spa at the Hilton nearby. Available parking on site.

Because of the low season one of the restaurants was closed. It was a bit of a puzzle to get from one place to the other in the hotel. More directions signs would be welcome.

Not sure what we did not like. We didn't try the food this time (had breakfast two years ago) so cannot comment on food this time.

Great base. Had a hire car. Secure parking underneath apartments. Regarding parking, once you know location of your apartment, you can park close to lift for your block. So easy once you figure out which door to use. Nice comfortable and clean apartments. Underfloor heating was on max on entry (was warm but figured out how to turn off and then just set thermostat for comfort) stayed out of season so wasn't too busy which we enjoyed. Kids loved play area also and used indoor pool at Hilton once we sampled the outdoor ones! Used the Rubi bar twice for drinks. Overall, we felt the apartments were comfortable and great value for what we paid. Would stay again. Can use shuttle at Hilton if did not have car (we have stayed at Hilton hotel before and used this last time)

Great big spacious comfortable well equipped 4 bedroom corner suite. 4 balconies inc Hottub (not in service) Pools all great size and clean facilities. Staff very friendly.

Lovely resort. The apartment was well furnished and spacious too. The staff at checkin were lovely too. I also loved the fact that uber works too and it was very cheap. My partner and I went in December so it was quiet but I can only imagine how busy it would be during the summer. The resort shares facilities with the Hilton Hotel. Yuri who works at the spa was very friendly too.

Receptions were confusing on arrival (different one for different accommodation types) and far away from each other, but staff great and sorted shuttle bus for me to correct one with my heavy bags!! Thank you!

The bed in our master bedroom was not comfortable and we had lots of noise from the air conditioning/towel rail. we also had a dog barking lots in a house outside of the resort 😳

The apartments are starting to date (last time there was 5 years ago and it’s really starting to show it’s age). The entire apartment complex i feel needs some love with tiles needing to be fixed in walking areas and on the terraces plus radiators creaking and toilet flushers sticking. I’d hate to see the place fall into disrepair. However the staff are so so friendly that anytime we did have a problem they were always super helpful and resolved it for us as quickly as they could. One negative (and as it’s our third visit to As Cascatas I feel I can comment on) is that the food and drink is incredibly expensive. The poolside bar especially is €4.50 for a glass (which constitutes a half pint in my world) of beer that will cost €2.50 at the Marina in Vilamoura. 3 hot chocolates and 2 bowls of French fries cost us €30. Not expensive for some however we did feel it was a little excessive. They do have a captive audience and it’s poolside so maybe we should have expected it. Just a but steep!

Great pools for the kids to enjoy including a heated indoor one for days in Oct when it’s wasn’t particularly warm. The playground is super and the breakfast buffet is excellent. Our ground floor 2 bed apt was perfect for a family of 5 and it was very handy having the washing machine in the kitchen (however they say you aren’t allowed hang clothes to dry outside when there is a perfectly secluded spot that no one would see 🤷🏼‍♀️). All in all though it’s a great spot for families seeking to unwind and have fun together.

The distance from the marina. Unfortunately it was a little far out till walk in.
