Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdomwe had a lovely spacious room overlooking the harbour, which had kitchen facilities that we were not expecting. Nice comfortable beds and lovely white linen. The pool area is great with plenty of sunbeds for all guests. The dining area had plenty of choice but it was pretty average food. Staff were all friendly and helpful. It is situated on probably the only sandy beach on the island, plus there are several cafes and restaurants you could walk to on the harbour if you wanted a change from the hotel.

AustriaGuests were allowed to use the very small sauna in dripping wet swimsuits without a towel, and almost all of them went into the indoor pool without a shower, the turkish bath was closed. There was no clear sign about the hygiene rules whatsoever, only a long text mentioning the shower somewhere down the list. For me this was a problem, I did point this out to the reception.
Very good location right at one of the only two sandy beaches of Madeira, with a big and very nice outdoor and pool aerea, the business model of the hotel is "all inclusive" (the only booking option) with an endless and impressive list of drinks and a very rich variety of food practically all day long. I skipped breakfast right away and I drink at the most one glass of wine, so for me it was all a bit too much, but the other guests clearly enjoyed this formula very much. I loved to swim in the big outdoor pool looking up at the palm trees. I did completely avoid the indoor pool though. The rooms (I had a balcony with sea view) are a bit small, but comfortable and very clean.

PolandEverything's great except for the coffee. The only good one (from real coffee machine, from grains) is in the bar that opens at 6 pm. It would really make a difference if you put someone from stuff in there for the whole day or at least breakfast.
A very pleasant stay. I was on vacation with my mom. First day there were construction works near the hotel and they moved us to another place for one night but they handled it flawlessly. The stuff was always helpful and eager to fulfill our requests. They moved us to a better room, even though they didn't have to and helped us with the parking. When I got sick a receptionist called a doctor and sent food to my room. Meals were tasty and diverse. Even though it's not the newest hotel it has everything one's need: good pool, gym, free sauna, relaxing spaces. It felt more cosy than the 5 star hotel we were in during first day. Thank you for the experience!

United KingdomThe Orange juice was nothing like orange juice! Would it be too expensive to give us real, fresh juice? The outdoor pool was too cold and the indoor pool too small for the size of the hotel; Cheap ice cream;
Hotel location; Sea view room; Activities & the Team; All staff were excellent; Having evening entertainment every night - although there were a couple of nights it wasn't very good; selection of food in the self service restaurant; Chef who looked after my Gluten free diet - he cooked me separate food on several occasions when there was little that I could eat of what was available; The Al-a-carte restaurants;

United KingdomSome of the fixtures were a bit dated and there was one member of staff who was rather rude in the restaurant Local.
The location was lovely - out of the way but with easy access to everything we needed or wanted to see. The staff were generally nice, especially Cristina on the front desk - always on hand to help. The entertainment was great, some fantastic voices.

LuxembourgOnly two minor things. If in the room description says minibar, there should be a minibar, not the empty fridge. Full minibar with variety of drinks and snacks with a pricelist. That's definitely missing. And if it says that room is equipped with coffee/tea maker, only the coffee/tea maker (machine) is not enough. There should be a plate with a coffee/tea/sugar. A minimum.
Everything is perfect. Location, staff, food, pools, beach, live music (samba) evenings, surroundings, nature..second year in a row now in Calheta. Definitely coming back again

IrelandWhen we arrived we were told that we got a free upgrade which was incredible. Large room with a view to the ocean on the top floor with spacious sitting room and huge bathroom. There were all the essentials that you need including a toothbrush and shaver etc. It's an all inclusive resort and the food was delicious. Huge choice and different themed dinner every night. Including entertainment and activities around the pool. We stayed for 2 nights and it was a great experience. Very quiet and peaceful resort.

United KingdomI had expected the property to be a bit more premium in terms of fittings and rooms. The room was awkwardly laid out, specifically the bathroom.
It’s located right on the beach. There is a taxi rank right across the street which makes it easy to get around.

United KingdomThere was little to dislike. The outdoor pool could have been warmer and on days where it was cold the aqua classes held inside. We were sorry that the menu in the A La Carte dinning option had changed and was not to our taste.
The breakfasts in the A La Carte restaurant were excellent given my mobility issues. The food and drinks were good. The quality of the evening entertainment was good-it included a brilliant magic show and several dance demonstrations and shows.

BotswanaAs mentioned before the food was ok. but not impressive, it could be that i am spoiled and used to good home made meals, without fuss but good ingredients.
I am not a great fan of buffet food, but with a hotel like this i guess they have not much choice. I was disappointed in the choices on the menu at the restaurant we could go to twice during our stay, very limited.
