Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe coffee at the breakfast buffet was undrinkable, and the vacuum cleaning during breakfast was excessively loud.
Good value for money; you get what you pay for.

United KingdomPay for parking (€7 per day) and was slightly noisy from other rooms/balconies on some nights.
Breakfast was good. Room was comfy, but did have no air con which was fine for staying in April. Close to lots of nice restaurants. Staff very helpful and polite. Facilites were good for the value, pool, gym, breakfast, comfy room. Slightly outdated in the room but didn’t effect our stay and isn’t as bad as the comments make out.

NetherlandsLimited parking, we reserved a paid parking spot beforehand but if you arrive after 19:00 you will still not have a parking spot despite paying for it. Shower head was old and broken, it kept falling off the wall while showering. No shampoo, only basic hand soap and body soap (which dried out your skin, so we ended up purchasing new soap ourselves). No airconditioner.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, and many restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Very useful to have a fridge in the room if you want to keep drinks and fruits cold for hikes, quite spacious for a hotel fridge. There is also a small stove, microwave, plates and utensils though we didn't use it. Breakfast was ok.

SlovakiaThe pool should be open longer then 20:00. It is a pity, that hotel does not provide the towel in the pool.
Breakfast was fine, the offer of meal was full until the end 10:30. Hotel is situated in very a nice place, near Lido. Everything is near.

FranceThe parking was full, so couldn’t park at the property. The rooms look old and outdated, very shabby. The shower pressure is in existent because the pipe leaks so no water gets into the shower head

LatviaNice hotel with good amenities. The two pools (one of them heated) is a big advantage. Breakfast was good. Room has a kitchenette and basic cooking equipment, so cooking own food was also convenient.

United KingdomPoor breakfast - 'hot' options were not kept hot! Hard to get on the tennis court as so booked out by coaches so played at 8-9am or lunchtime. Had to pay for tennis court use, even with our own rackets and balls. This was not mentioned before booking Bathroom was very 'tired' and old fashioned. Non slip strips in the bath stopped us using it as a bath so just as a shower over bath. generally the hotel and apartment areas needed a refurb
Good to be able to use the hotel that was a continuous building with the studios Adequate balcony with sea view Really easy to go on tours and organised walks. Reasonably priced

United KingdomThe room is in urgent need of renovation - flooring with holes and dark spots, the furniture is super-tired. The hairdryer is super slow and very old. There's no aircon - this was not a problem for us with 20-22 degrees outside - with the balcony door open the temperature in the room was ok. Overall, for the price, it was ok.
Good location near bus stops, shops and nice restaurants. Good varied choices for breakfast, friendly staff. Room was kept clean. Nice ocean view (5th floor).

HungaryWhoever the room looks new, the furniture is quite oldish and you can see it everywhere after looking closer. Not the best hotel in our life, but can be recommended if you accept that oldish stuff.
Fair price studio hotel for our five days tour in Madeira. Shops and bus stops are near, also you can find some parking spots, but most of them are paid. The room was quite normal in size, with a nice balcony and birds singing at morning. The staff was pretty nice with us, also we asked for a mini heater because the room was a bit cold. Breakfast is diverse, perfect for starting the day and they provided fresh gluten free bread. There was a small kitchen also which can be helpful.

Irelandone of the lifts was broken so there were queues of more than 10min to catch turn there were mosquitos in the room when we arrived. A pity the indoors swimming pool was closing too early (8pm) The gym is small no more than 4ppl can fit and there was no AC
2 swimming pools plus one in the next hotel possibility to have early breakfast if you go on an excursion and cannot attend normal breakfast serving hours the hotel has their own parking which is 7euros a day and very convenient but quickly full so I would recommend booking it in advance. Worse case scenario the supermarket near Lido is 4euros for the entire night. Nice views from the balcony
