Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe wifi didn't work the second night of our stay, hotel staff blamed it on the fog. There is barely any cell phone reception in the hotel, so there was no way to communicate with the outside world that night. Although the jacuzzi was a great touch, the water wasn't very hot. And although the restaurant food was great, it was one of the most expensive places that we dined at on the island, and it was not worth the money spent.
The views were spectacular! The restaurant food was great. The pool and jacuzzi were nice. Loved the towel warmers in the shower and the bathrobes that came with the room. The beds were the most comfortable on the island. Loved that each room had a balcony overlooking the Valley of the Nuns.

United KingdomGreat location with excellent views. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Onsite restaurant was also really good. Overall a great base for exploring the mountains. I have seen some reviews complaining about facilities - yes it's not a 5 star luxury hotel but you arent paying those prices. Would certainly stay again

United StatesThe property is somewhat isolated and if using public transportation there aren’t many options after noon. Taxis and ride share is also complicated so you really need to rent a car. But this all adds to the sense of “getting away”
Very peaceful and beautiful place. Great if you really just want to get away for a while and rejuvenate. Staff was fantastic and Emídio at the desk went out of his way to make us comfortable

CanadaAfter staying here I found that I really didn't need to be about 20 min out in a remote location. It took a lot longer to get to places I wanted to visit. I think unless you wanted to specifically be close to the valley, then for me I would have looked for something with better proximity. From the name of the hotel I was expecting a nice spa atmosphere, but much I didn't find here. The spa weight room and pool didn't look very appealing. The hotel seemed a little outdated. Since the hotel is situated at a lookout point, there were large souvenir and tourist stores attached to the hotel with a few tour buses visiting.
The location was great if you want to be by the valley of the nuns. The views were incredible. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Staff were very nice. Our room had a beautifully renovated bathroom.

United KingdomDefinitely not worth staying for dinner there. Food wasn't really nice.
Location is really impressive when you don't need to think about driving there. But we are not good with heights to be honest. Rooms are good size and reasonably clean. Nice swimming pool and jacuzzi.

SwitzerlandWe got a 2-room apartment, including a baby crib beside our bed, although we booked a simple double room. Unfortunately, the dormitory was separated from the balcony by the second room, which we kept closed as it was not heated. So we had no window in our room - which we expected when we booked. One morning, we had breakfast at 09:30 and noticed almost all the food was gone. Nobody bothered to refill. I understand that refilling might lead to food waste when most of the hotel guests have already eaten, but they could have offered us some supplements from the kitchen. We asked for some veggies, but we were told there were none. The restaurant was disappointing.
The hotel offers beautiful views of the surroundings. The staff in the restaurant was very friendly and helped compensate for the poor food quality.

Amazing breakfast with the breathtaking view. The room is nice with a balcony. Towels were changed every day during cleaning. The pool and jacuzzi are free. The sauna is acceptable for a small charge (5 euro). Also I mentioned that Icome for my bday and a bottle of champagne was waiting me in the room, it was super nice! The staff are incredible kind and profeccional!

United KingdomHotel a bit dated and lacked atmosphere. It's also remote and as we had no car, our only option was to eat at the hotel as there are no other options within reasonable walking distance in the evening . Food in the restaurant was meh, nothing special and a little too expensive for what it was. Limited plug sockets in room. We stayed 2 nights and that was enough for us to explore the area
The view! The view cannot be beaten. We had a superior room which was spacious with a big balcony/terrace. Room was spotlessly clean and bed comfortable. Breakfast OK if a little limited. Great location if you are planning on doing the walk down to nuns valley (which I would recommend)

United StatesThe restaurant food was not very good but still quite expensive. There was no air conditioning or fans in the rooms and the walls were quite thin. We could hear our neighbors “celebrating” most nights.

AustriaThey had a wedding reception in the evening which was a bit loud for a while. There's not much else around in term of restaurants so you either have to drive for a while or you can eat dinner in the hotel's restaurant.
The view was great, it was just really nice to look out the windows and see the mountains close by. The hotel is in a pretty nice area with not much around which was a plus for me. Breakfast was good. The price was great for what it offered. I would definitely recommend staying here for a night or two if you want a bit more of a quiet place. Just know that there's not much to do around.
