The surrounding nature was exactly what we were looking for, something to relax and reconnect with ourselves and our family. Additionally, the food and service was spot on! Everyone was supper helpful and kind to our baby boy.

Breakfast was perfect! made to order eggs combined with various cereals, yogurt, breads and pastries. Dinner was exceptional as well! The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Beds are very big and comfortable.

Our stay was absolutely amazing. The entire place is built up so beautiful and with love. The rooms are amazing and clean. The common space are super cozy and are very inviting to rest. The staff was amazing and the food and breakfast in the restaurant too. The pool area also looked super nice even if we didn´t use it at it was a bit too cold to swim in November :) You can do nice hikes starting from the Country house. We just really enjoyed our stay!

Walking in the rain to the restaurant and no tv in room

We drove in and it felt like oasis. Truly very relaxing place. Beautiful property. But what really struck me was was the love for dogs. We travel with 14 year old furry boy and we could not be more welcome. He was treated like human guest. walking around freely and enjoying the whole property with us. He made 2 amazing friends that are at the property. They followed Bentley all the way to our room. It was truly warmest welcome we ever received from all employees even from those 2 furry ones. Thank you. IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO STAY AT THIS PLACE, STAY FOR LONGER THAN 2 NIGHTS!!!!!!!! you will drive out with sooo much positiveness.

The air conditioning wasn’t working in our room, therefore sleeping with such a heat (30 degrees) was quite uncomfortable.

We liked the quiet and relaxed ambience, the silence, the nature and the swimming pool. The staff was always attentive and friendly.

We found the room for a family of 3 was a bit small for a 4 night stay. The evening compulsory 4 course dinner was not what we wanted, we would have prefered to order a lighter tapas style meal for the evenings...this forced us to go out in the evenings and we would have prefered to stay at the venue.

We absolutely loved everything about this place. We had only booked one night and it was just a tease. We will definately return. The staff, the location, the grounds, the common spaces, the roses, the dogs and the most exceptional food!!!! Best we have had in Portugal after having travelled for over 3 weeks. This is a place to find your inner peace. We are already planing our return!

some additional breakfast options would be good - mostly continental options which you don't always want. Would also be good to have A'la Carte evening menu as was only set menu available so if you don't like the menu you have to go out. The dirt road could do with with tarmac.

The staff were amazing and always ready to help - when we checked in they couldn't do enough to ensure we were happy with our accommodation and knew where everything was. We were given a full tour of the facilities. We booked dinner with them last minute for 5 people and the chef came to chat with us about what he was able to do for us on short notice and the food was fabulous. All in all a great stay which we really enjoyed. Breakfast eggs were cooked to order with good quality coffee - next time we need to visit it when it is warmer so we can enjoy the pool.

The food was delicious, local and house-made. The breakfast buffet had a wide selection of food and possible to request eggs, pancakes, etc... Dinner was amazing! The location is very relaxing, remote and you feel in the country side. A lot of places to hang out and explore.

We have nothing negative to say about Herdade da Matinha Country House & Restaurant.

Ultimate place for a romantic get-away. Nothing here seems to random. Every pillow and throw is selected with care and an eye for taste and detail. It calm and close to nature with all the comforts of modern living. The art on the walls are beautiful, the ranchy feel of the place is welcoming and the food is AMAZING! We are definitly returning. The bar and porch area will be your hang-out every night and the surrounding areas are well worth exploring. Loved it!
