Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe chinese restaurant (where breakfast was served) was not able to manage all the people (and cleared my stuff multiple times before I was finished with it). The room doors were extremely noisy to operate. Noise from other rooms. The bathroom was so small that I had to open the door to stretch my arms.
Comfortable hard bed. Opening the windows was no problem.

United StatesEven with the elevator, there were stairs to the entrance and stairs to my actual room that was challenging for me with a lot of luggage as a solo traveler. Luckily they had a luggage room they were able to let me use temporarily as I took 2 trips, one for each roller bag. Better than nothing but just barely! Obviously not an issue if you don't have heavy luggage but doesn't seem to be wheelchair friendly. The room was a bit noisy but to be expected in the heart of downtown with everything in walking distance.
Great location, close to lots of areas to walk around and explore. No ice machine but staff was accommodating when I asked for ice, I could ask at the restaurant. Breakfast was good but nothing fancy. Room was small but had everything I needed for my stay.

DenmarkOk the only bad thing and I left notice with the hotel upon check-out, was that the carpet, as pretty as it was, had a dirty feet smell to it. There were spots on the carpets. I am sure the hotel would have taken care of it if I asked them. But I just let it slide. The bed was pretty well worn down but even so, it was a tad more comfortable than my bed at home. Not concerning the room, but the hotel building from the street, which is really cute, kind of castle looking, was that the sign needed to have some of the lighting repaired and some of the awnings needed to be cleaned. But that was minor. I would judge the hotel to a 9 or 10 had these trouble spots not occurred.
I was very surprised with what I got for the money. I was more than satisfied. It's not a modern style hotel. It's a romantic old style hotel which I really appreciate. Room was very clean BUT...... see the dislikes. Big window. Lots of space in the single room. Bathroom was nice. Shower was hot. About a 20 minute walk from the central station. A very nice walk. Breakfast had all that you could ask for. Nice big windows in the restaurant that looked out onto the street. Very quiet even though the room window faced the street. I would for sure recommend this hotel. I had room 211 / single person. An extra touch were all the chandeliers in the hotel and even in the room.

The room I was in was at the end of the hall so quite good. The staff were helpful and confirmed my excursion bookings for me. Breakfast was exceptional and I really enjoyed the variety available. It was well situated for everything that I did whilst there.

FinlandThis Chinese-owned hotel has quite a lot Chinese groups and many of them where at the same time in breakfast etc., so there where sometimes a bit crowd (mostly in early breakfast hours), but usually there were space enough for everyone. Even if the hotel is quite well located near Stureplan, it's a bit far from metro stations (nearest is Hötorget and you can reach it via a pedestrian tunnel, next nearest is Östermalmstorg). Wifi connection was very poor and basically it didn't work most of the time.
This hotel has still some old style as it has been founded in 1910. Last renovation has been in 1990's, it would need some uplifting, but comparing to the prices it was perfect. Single rooms are very small but they work well. I had a yard-side-room at it was silent, but slamming doors on the next rooms was disturbing (but luckily not during the nights). Breakfast was a typical Scandinavian breakfast with quite a lot of variety. There were also a sauna at the basement and you could book it for free for your private use.

SpainThe breakfast was okay but it could use more options. The selection was a bit limited for a breakfast buffet.
The room was spacious and clean and was ready before 3pm so we didn't have to wait to check in when we arrived around 11:30am. The bathroom was big and very clean as well. The location of the hotel was very good. Walking distance to the main attractions. The staff were helpful and nice.
