I had to leave!

I loved staying here for 3 nights. It is a large complex right next to the Lake with it's own lake access. It has many communal rooms for sitting, and using the tables, a large library, a lounge and balcony with views over the lake. It also has a sauna, gym and laundry facilities. Located right next to the old church in Rattvik and within easy walking distance of the town centre. The breakfast was buffet style and exceptional. They served lunch at a reasonable price. It is a charitable religious community and they support families and people in need to stay here. No alcohol is allowed on site.

The staff was unengaged, borderline unpleasant. Moreover, the room was ice cold so I had to sleep with thermo wear on. When mentioning to the lady in the reception, she turned into my fault, as I did not ask for another blanket.

The location is beautiful with a marvellous view. The breakfast was really nice with plenty to choose from.

Neutral: the shower is common, but given the decent price and everything else that was fantastic, this was totally ok. And the shower was clean, so all is good. Just had to write something here :D

This was the best hotel I've ever been to. It is humble, atmospheric, the food is fantastic, the staff is kind (as almost expected, given the clerical surroundings, but still surprising). The bed sheets were so soft and nice, and the room had SO much personality. They even have guest books PER room, and each room belongs to a certain Parish, and the Guestbook goes to that Parish.

Lovely staff, great food provided with a variety of rooms to relax in and a library, superb views, excellent environment, interesting history, great value for money. The perfect place for a getaway that's out of the way but not too out of the way! (I recommend going for about 3 days!)

At 8 in the morning the bells at the neighbouring church ring. However, as breakfast is until 9:30, this is a good time to get up anyway...Nothing to complain really.

Fantastic location directly at the lake with its own beach (and additional beach towels were available). Very friendly and helpful staff, nice clean room and good breakfast. I had the cheapest room category with shared shower, which was not a problem - it was clean and I never had to wait. I stayed after the Swedish holiday season, so maybe fewer guests, and no youth groups in the nearby camp huts. There are some shared spaces throughout the house for people to read or chat, which I found nicer than the usual hotel lobby. The hotel is 20 minutes walk from the train station and town center, or you can use one of their free bikes. They have canoes, and at the nearby campsite (10 minutes walk) there is a "kayakomat" for rental of kayaks and SUP boards (for a fee). There was lunch at the hotel, but no dinner. They provide a map of the town with restaurant tips, and there are at least two supermarkets in the town as well. Tea/coffee was available. No 24 hours reception, but I received an e-mail with a door code and description, so could also have checked in outside of reception hours. Really loved the place and would definitively stay there again.

We had a dog and stayed in one of the dog rooms. Our floors were not cleaned. We found the decor, comfort more like we were at a summer camp, not a hotel. The breakfast quality of food was not high. You need to come when it starts at 8. They don’t refill bacon, boiled eggs, and fruit, so come early to get what you want. You have a choice for cleaning. If you decide not to have your room cleaned, they donate that money to youth and people who cannot afford to come, so they can enjoy and experience it. That was a very nice gesture that we opted for. This is a perfect place for kids camp. The staff at check in was very nice. Other than that, we didn’t come across staff.
