How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Very nice stuff, very helpful, place was perfectly clean and we got much more space than we expected. Location is wonderful. Couldnt recommend more.

Everything is a bit run down We were there in hot weather and it was uncomfortably hot in the room despite open windows; there is no air conditioning

The pillow could be thicker
The hostel is in the center of everything, tram stops are just a few steps away. Igor is a very friendly host. We were allowed to select between two rooms and we took the one at the backyard. Everything was clean, beds were pretty good and bathroom equipped with a shower tub. A few cafes are near enough to have breakfast.

It's rather basic and simple accomodation. It's not a hotel, but hostel. For this price for couple days is Ok.
Good location, very friendly owner, big room, bright inside. There kettle and some food utencils. Easy to reach all sights by foot.

What an amazing experience, the owner's are so friendly and accommodating, we were told of places to eat, and visit, they even looked after our bags for the whole day after we had checked out. The accommodation is on the main street, walking distance from the old town. Such a warm and welcoming place

The hostel is the center, and only a few minutes walk from the historically old part of the town. The owner (especially the husband) is very nice and helpful; the room is comfy and clean. In the hallway, you will find a fridge, a hairdryer, an iron, and some tea as well. The room also has a kettle. The hostel was equipped well (more than basic), and it was great for one night.

Wonderful greeting from the friendly lady who rushed out from reception to greet me as I ascended the stairs. She explained everything clearly, walked me to my room, even flicked the fan on for me (it was a hot, humid day!) I loved my room. It felt more like staying in someone's home than in a hostel. The bed was cosy, there were mugs/glasses/cutlery/teatowel in the room if needed (and a microwave outside the door!) The windows opened wide to let fresh air in. My room faced the main street but I had a perfectly undisturbed night's sleep even with the windows open. Clean bathroom, great shower. Main train station is within 10-15 min walking distance. Tourist attractions, bars, restaurants, cafes etc are all on the doorstep. Bratislava is wonderful and the price/quality ratio here was superb. I'd gladly return!!

The room is a little bit dark but it doesn’t matter
I think I stayed in the largest room I can ever expect. The host is super nice and speaks English well. I can feel the warm environment from the people in Bratislava thanks to him. The room is like a studio and has a big kitchen and dining table. Beds are comfy and bathroom is clean. Location is perfect, near the center and bus/tram

The only may be thing was that under my window was a bar/restaurant and was loud. But after I closed the window I could still sleep well.
Nice, simple place but in great location and very warm, lovely and friendly personal! I felt very welcome there!

Can't think about anything - maybe that the shower head hasn't got any holder.
Very kind host, awesome location, all the equipment you need also for not longer stays but perfect for short stays to explore the city!
