Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesVery nice and comfortable hotel. Incredible pleasant and helpful and attentive staff. They really made us feel welcomed and helped us navigate our first visit to Chiang Mai. We also thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts and appreciated the variety offered. Climate control worked very well in the room. Lastly I want to comment on the shower. It felt so incredible after a hot sweaty visit to an elephant park. Bottom Line: loved it and would stay again (and again)!

Purripunn Hideaway is a lovely, cosy hotel with very welcoming and attentive staff who were always ready to help. The rooms, and guest areas, are decorated in a classic colonial style. Our bedroom was well equipped with shower, bath, air conditioning, safe, toiletries, smart TV, etc. The pool area is small but private and big enough for a hotel of this size (we only ever saw 2 or 3 people at the pool at any time). Breakfast had a small selection of well prepared asian dishes, a range of egg dishes made to order, lovely fruit, pastries, cereal, and salad. Drinks on arrival and hotel shuttle into town was a nice touch. The hotel offers a range of facilities, which are pricier than what you would pay in the city, but are of high quality and convenient with an added personal touch (we used the laundry service and purchased a massage).

SpainWe Found the staff would come and go a lot out of our room when we were not there. We thought just the once was sufficient.
It’s small but beautiful.

United StatesThere was nothing I could find to not like.
The property is gorgeous. It is set a very short walk from the main street. We selected the Puripunn Grand Suite. Very large room with its own private pool. We spent 6 nights here and had a most wonderful time. The staff went above and beyond to help us in every way. Breakfast was great. This is a very romantic hotel if you are looking for somewhere quiet.

MexicoWe hired some tours and they didnt want to pick us up at our hotel because it was "too far away" from the city center. The beds were a bit stiff for my personal preferences.
The facilities are beautiful. Breakfast was really good. The staff was very friendly.

United KingdomWe had a baby and the set up was difficult, there was no lift, so we couldn’t use the pushchair and had to leave it in reception and keep getting it when we needed it. They also have awkward double doors in to the rooms, which are really slim and you have to awkwardly open both to get in to your room - only a minor inconvenience.
Pool and bar were nice.

VietnamStayed here for five nights in early March and throughly enjoyed my time. The hotel is really hidden away from the hustle of Chiang Mai - but it is only a short walk to the main attractions - also Grab works beautifully in Chiang Mai, so no issues at all. The facilities of the hotel are lovely - very "boutiqu-y", with a lot of personality. The staff is extremely friendly and the owner takes care of his guests personally. Great breakfast! All in all, it was a great stay - hospitality at its best!

United StatesOur room was ground floor which meant we needed to keep the curtains closed for privacy. I like waking up to light in the morning but this wasn't possible with the curtains closed. The bathroom was photographed as having windows but when I opened the shutters they just led to a wall and were not real windows. The bathroom doors were not real doors and not great for privacy if you are traveling with someone else and hope to have privacy in the bathroom. A little far from the heart of Chiang Mai. The hotel offers a shuttle but only a few pre-selected times per day that did not work for us. We just took cabs or tuk tuks to and from the property. The walk to/from the property at night felt a little sketchy. The pool was freezing cold which was surprising given the heat in Chiang Mai. It should have been refreshing, but was too cold for me to swim.
Beautiful property, great breakfast, delicious cocktails
