The hotel is very secluded and up a very steep hill that would be very hard to walk down never mind walking up they have taxis around but bc there is no grab or apps that work on Phagnan they over charge you we got charged 400 baht to the 7/11 just down the road from the hotel bc we needed water and snacks. We didn’t know this before booking. It would be perfect if ou had rented a car or bike but i wouldn’t recommend to ppl who can not drive. We found it kinda boring and not much around to do. We would stay somewhere else next time. The bed sheets were kinda dirty and some things were very dusty. This is kinda open plan so we could hear a lot of geckos at night in the hall way as no door to outside in.

The property was nice and the staff were helpful and friendly and gave us a cute elephant on check out. It had a peaceful vibe and an infinity pool plus the food here is absolutely gorgeous.

Resort is up a steep hill which goes with the stunning views you get once you reach it. Personally I enjoyed the exercise up and down it but didn’t notice anyone else walking- all cars and scooters!! The hotel do offer a shuttle to secret beach which is located a short trip down bottom of hill, but I would recommend to anyone to try The Wave Sunset Restaurant & Bar which is closer than the Secret Beach - this place is a hidden gem - only been open a month - located on a small private beach - serving excellent breakfast and evening meals and such a chilled out vibe - staff so friendly and laid back - must try. In contrast, the hotel restaurant food is average at best, which led us to discover The Wave Sunset!!

The second room we were relocated to after complaining about first room ( no headboard; loose tiles, restricted sea view; tired and needing refurb ) was nice - better feel to it; better sea view and nice and private balcony not overlooked at all. The infinity pool is lovely with the view impressive; lovely sunsets; benefit of being halfway up hill. Overall the resort has a nice and peaceful relaxed vibe. Dao on reception was excellent and extremely professional and very quick and decisive when I requested a move to another room and generally very helpful ( spoke better English than me ). The staff were generally very eager to please throughout and should be commended.

We spent ten days at Sunset hill and had a very nice, enjoyable time there. Our room was very clean and had a great big balcony with a view of the sea and the pool. The pool was also a highlight, overlooking the sea. The staff were always friendly, approachable and available. We can only recommend a stay and would love to come back!

listen we came to this hotel after we where in a 5 star resort hotel in ko samui- so don't expect that. The room should be cleaner (there was dust under the beds) and maintennce could be better - but all in all i would come back 100%.

Unfortunately the bed, like most beds in Thailand, is pretty hard and not so comfortable for most travelers not used to a harder mattress. This does not change our great experience and we will still come back, it's worth it!

We've been coming to Koh Phangan for years and this hotel belongs to one of our favorite hotel experiences! The Service is outstanding and the infinitypool tops it off with a beautiful view of the ocean. We will definitely come back!

Far from the sea

Large , clean, sea view is excellent, minus is a far distance from the sea. It looks close on map , but it’s high up , thus you always need to take a taxi or a bike , hotel provide free taxi from the reception to secret beach only, from 9-17.

The rooms could use either some updates and good deep cleans of windows and surfaces etc. Bit of a smell from the toilets in the evening. Breakfast was okay but the other meals- let's just say I've had better Thai in other countries.

The staff were incredibly helpful in all ways, from helping to book taxis anywhere you want to go, to laundry and events happening around. They even order taxis to pick you up from places when you're out. The view was incredible- beautiful sunsets. Very nice staff. Yoga classes daily was a bonus for sure, as were the events around the pool and ice bath/sauna days. They had refillable water bottles, which was wonderful to reduce plastic use. The shuttle will take you to the beach. But if you don't rent a motorcycle, be prepared to spend 150-500 baht per trip anywhere in the general area, even on a songthau truck taxi. It gets expensive. This is just general island wide prices. I stayed also on the other side of the island and learned that the ocean is calm here, but more rough and bigger waves on the other side however this area was pretty bustling, whereas the other side was more quiet and peaceful.

This is a tropical island and mosquitoes are part of life. So if you are at the most beautiful pool and bar, watching sunset take some Mosquito repellant.

Great hotel on a short steep hill which gives panoramic views of the bay, We chose a room with a sea view which gave sublime views. The staff were fantastic and none more than Rien the Manager who could not do enough. The hotel has brought in some great systems, making the stay and experience top notch. What’s app is used to convey information. Ferry booking to Koh Tao were done by the hotel. Transport met us at the port to took us to the hotel. A Shultz bus is available to take you to Secret beach. If you wish to travel around the island they will book a taxi for you. Or better still, rent a moped ( if you are proficient , many steep hills); hotel arranges this at no extra cost to you via a local reliable and reputable vendor. Little touches were v nice, water station outside apt with refillable flasks. A beach bag and towels. The staff made a good hotel a great hotel.
