Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room is a little outdated and could use some love. Given the location, it's not something worth complaining about. The outlets in particular were very tough to use, as they were extremely loose.
Perfect location! Jason was so helpful in getting my sister and I a room that we were both comfortable in. Breakfast at RC Otters was delicious and necessary after a long night listening to the live music at Key Lime Bistro!

United StatesThe use of air freshening room spray is completely unnecessary and gave us a headache and a terrible first impression. The windows are painted shut (and there are no screens anyway) so we had to air out the room by leaving the door open and then by going for a several-hour bike ride. When we returned, another airing fixed the problem. Room did not smell of mildew or old or any problem that we could ever figure out that would have caused such over-use of the spray. If you are sensitive to perfumes, ask that your room NOT be sprayed when being made up for your arrival.
This is a nice, friendly place with good value for money, great location. Although funky and old, the bed is very comfortable (firm), air conditioning quiet and works, plumbing good and small bath very well arranged so you can put your stuff out -- lots of stuff. If luxury is your thing, this is not for you, but otherwise it's great.

United StatesAlthough coffee maker and filters were provided, I'm afraid they did not provide us with an coffee cups (no coffee provided either, but we had our own). We were very glad that we had brought our earplugs because there were heavy winds and our roof was pelted with coconuts throughout the night (also the restaurants emptied trash and as I had mentioned, we were in the middle of the action). We went across the street for our free breakfast which was included and had a decent meal, but very unfriendly service.. All of the Captiva Inn staff was very friendly, but coffee shop lady was very rude, as well as misc. shops in the area were not friendly.
It was an adorable little bungalow tucked into the back of the bustling center of the city. Everything except for the cushions on the outdoor furniture was clean, there was immediate hot water & a nice shower. We appreciated the mini fridge, comfortable bed, warm hardwood floors and ROKU T.V.. Best part of our one day stay was our trip to the BUBBLE ROOM!! It needs to be on everyone's bucket list... a MUST SEE!!

United StatesJust one thing in this regard: I wasn't given any information about how to access the internet. There was nothing given out at registration (as far as I could see; maybe I missed something?) or any information in the very comfortable suite. The networks that came up were all locked. Other than that one matter, this is an excellent place to stay, and I hope to visit again.
Roomy, and well-appointed, the place was very comfortable, and also a good deal! Easy walking to water in two directions, and to restaurants very close by too.

United StatesI didn't like the no see-ums/ mosquitoes that were inside my room upon arrival.......let me back up. When I arrived, the office lady was not friendly, as if I was bothering her with my arrival. She told me my room was " over there ". Gave me the password for their internet, but when you try to log on, there were 7 to choose from. When I tried all 7, password rejected be used 1.) She didn't tell me what name is their Internet....it is not obvious, and 2.) The password had cap/lower case letters.....and I am supposed to know that. I found that out the second day. I had to come back in the office to ask where exactly the room was since they had the back parking lot blocked off privately. I didn't like the bar noises next to me and across the street. Drunk girls screaming and both bars has live music. The first night I was annoyed that I had no Internet so I believe that elevated my pistivity. When you ask where to park, she said right here.....which right here is sharing a lot with other restaurant businesses. So you get to park IF....a big IF a spot is available. No reserved parking with your room. I also did lot like the windows in Daisy room, I felt like I was in a cave. Window #1 was a view of a fence and a garbage dumpster....that's it. Window #2 viewed the back of a fence about 6 inches from the window. So even with the blinds open, light coming in was minimal, which made the room dark. I left the second day at 6:30 pm went elsewhere in Sanibel.......couldn't bear to stay another night getting bit by bugs and hearing mosquitoes in my ear. They should hand out RAID with the room keys. Maybe if I was 30 it be fun, I like it a bit more relaxing. Too many things to stress over.
I liked I was in Captiva and And Rosse Streets., steps away from the Bubble room, and the ice cream/ cake shop. Very cool restaurants. My room was so clean, I mean clean. Couldn't ask for cleaner. I stayed in Daisy room, was cute inside. There was a small refrigerator with a small microwave perched on top of that with half a roll of papertowels on refrigerator as well.

United Statessee above- I put it in the wrong box
The property is lacking due to the age of the cottage. situated facing the parking lot( which also served as parking for customers of the restaurant across from the property). 2-3 block walk to the beach which is crowded. a business has a portion of the beach for parasailing and other activities. Every morning someone from the restaurant banged pans outside ( cleaning them🤷♀️). The air conditioner did not keep the bedroom cool. The pool for this property was closed by the Health Department( there was a sign posted) I’ll stop there. I should have done more research I guess. not worth the money or the flight there.
