How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The elevator was out of order
The guys at the front desk where always really helpful and nice, the hotel was close to everything and really clean and quiet, and they included parking lot and breakfast! Best place to stay, thank you!

Bathroom dirty. Toilet was never cleaned. Had to get more toilet paper. Since there wasn't any. Bed Smelt like Sweat/ mold. There's no light in the rooms. Two lamps didn't work. Customer service is rude. They want your money but when it comes to actually doing anything they don't care to help.
Nothing, staff is incredibly rude. They just want your money.

We felt that the room wasn’t clean enough, the bed wasn’t comfortable and there wasn’t enough light inside the room (too dark). And the main issue is that they even don’t have a minibar inside the room! The place where the hotel is situated is crowded by drug dealers and homeless persons in very bad conditions and using drugs. At night we felt a bit insecure over there.
The staff is very polite and nice.

Everything! Terrible place to stay. The location is full of homeless people and poop on the street! My friend stepped on one while were on our way to the train station. The Lationo guy at reception who gets irritated when you left uour card in your room and asked for another key. the rooms are dark even when the lights are on. It’s so different from the pics shown on the website. Nover staying at this place again.
The South asian In reception who was super helpful and nice. He’s very pleasant to talk to and always attentive.

WiFi kept dropping out, which is extremely inconvenient for an overseas traveller. We stayed in so many hostels, but this was the only place (and it's not even a hostel) that had locked TV channels, so we couldn't watch anything in English except the news. The pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable.
Close to public transport and the parking was good. Reception staff were always friendly.

Nothing the hotel can control, which is the neighborhood..Downtown is not the best place to say in San Francisco.. you know you will need to deal.with homeless people and their issues in any hotel in the area.
Once inside the hotel, the place is super clean, safe, comfortable. I stayed in other place in the area too and I got pleasantly surprised of this one! If I ever go back to Folsom Fair, the best place to stay, the fair is located just around the corner.

The reception can be a bit confusing. It does run past the operating hours stated in the listing but the front desk is not staffed 24/7 so expect to have to ring a bell if you're checking in late. Also, if you need to use their parking, the entrance is managed manually by the front desk. Same as above, this relies on you ringing a bell if entering/exiting the parking lot at early/late hours.
The location is great and the rooms are clean. It definitely is more of an inn/motel vibe so make sure to set expectations properly. However, given the price and the location in SF proper, plus free parking and wifi, I have no complaints. Really great value for money.
