The lift was very slow and only one was working… we also had no hot water for a day and a half.

Beautiful decor and rooms… fantastic location! The doorman was very kind and even gifted a toy subway train to our little boy!

The elevator situation was more difficult than I expected. We were on the 10th floor, so there were a lot of stairs to climb or descend and we spent a lot of time waiting for the one slow elevator. Also, there was a door connecting our room to the one next door and sounds came right through as if we were sharing a suite. I had to call the front desk twice to complain about the noise next door waking us up.

The room was a good size, the location was excellent, and we had a view of the Empire State Building.

elevator seemed to be the issue, but they honestly tried to solve the problem and at least one elevator allways worked.

This hotel is super nice. Building is old, but it has a soul, it is nicely refurbished, clean, stylish and its right next to the Empire state building. Subway is right on the corner, plenty places to eat are nearby. Every day fresh bottles of water and kind stuff :)

There was only one elevator working for the whole week that we were there & we were on the 10th floor. It was fixed on our last day. Also, I had two cold showers!!

The room size was great for New York! The location was also fantastic but if noise keeps you awake, maybe not for you!

One of the lifts was not working so the wait was long and we were on the 12th floor.

The room was beautiful, clean and spacious. Location in NY was excellent, a short walk to the subway stations and Times Square. The lobby was also lovely.

One elevator was being renovated, which sometimes meant long waits - this is temporary though and will be fixed shortly - staff did inform about it on arrival. As with any central NYC hotels, rooms facing street will experience some noise and I came prepared with earplugs (none of these are points that would prevent me from staying again - would happily return).

Excellent location within walking distance of many attractions and transport links (two blocks to Penn station). Room was newly renovated and clean, bed was also very comfortable. Nice sized room (had a standard king room) for central NYC location.

Only one elevator was working and it was very small and slow, so getting around the building was tiresome. The sound travel between rooms was significant - we could clearly hear our neighbours conversations which wasn't great, especially at 3am!!

Great location, clean and comfortable. Could see the Empire States Building from our room. Really easy to access the sights of NYC and the transportation network. Friendly staff.

For the location and type of hotel we would have expected some form or tea or coffee facilities in the room. It's a small point but it's nice to relax in the evenings with a hot drink, especially after a day in the rain.

Great location, perfectly located for exploring Midtown and ideally located for the Empire State Building. Friendly staff and very helpful.

Pretty disappointed with the value you get for the price. Lacking attention to detail, very minimalistic amenities, nothing in the room (no coffee, no necessities), dirty and cheap windows, noisy, not too comfy beds. There are much better options in the area for a lower price.

    Location.

The elevator was slow in coming, I think only one of them was working, but I used the stairs which is not a bother to me and I didn't have much luggage.

The room was simple but very comfortable. It was on a reasonalbly busy street with some traffic noise but nothing disturbing and there was no noise from elevator usage or other hotel guests.

No coffee makers in the rooms! What's up with that? I asked the front desk person about it and they looked at me like I had two heads. For the caliber of this hotel, I expected a coffee maker in the room and was very disappointed it wasn't there.

The location 1.5 blocks from the Herald Square subway station is a huge bonus. Penn Station is just another block past that, so it is easy to catch direct trains to almost anywhere in Manhattan or Brooklyn. There are also lots of dining options nearby, including fantastic BBQ in Koreatown.

The only thing about our stay was the elevators. The hotel is an old building there are approx 140 rooms 12 to each floor and 12 floors. There was only One very slow elevator working for the whole 5 days of our stay we were in the 9th floor and during peak times the wait for the elevator was extreme. We used the stairs to decend most days but the inconvenience of the elevator wait did impact our stay.

I loved the location. The room was amazing so clean and decorated beautifully and the bed was out of this world. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

One of the two elevators was out of service; the operating elevator was slow. Sometimes, the room was extremely warm when we woke in the morning.

The room was comfortable. It was older but well maintained. The staff was friendly and courteous. I would definitely stay here again.

The elevator was under maintenance so only one car was available. Challenging at busier times. There was no hair dryer in the bathroom either.

It was very cute and well designed. The bed was comfortable. Loved the robes in the room. It also smells really good in the hotel. You can smell it from the street.

One elevator out of order which caused a good bit of waiting around since we on the 10th floor but it did not impede our touring. The second elevator was being worked on. A coffee/ pastry bar would have been nice. Also a cocktail bar would be nice.

My room was exceptional. Kind of noisy at night with truck deliveries to restaurants. I was on the 10th floor facing 35th Room 1002. Sirens, horns honking, typical New York noises. This does not bother me at all but probably would a lot of other people. The room was really good size as was the fridge. Really could have used a small coffee maker especially since the hotel had no eating facility. Bathroom was updated and spotless. The front desk had some of the most friendly helpful people I have ever known at a hotel. Jasmine and Cory especially! There were several restaurants right across the street which were very convenient

I do wish that there was a coffee machine or a microwave, but thats just personal preference. Its around the corner from multiple coffee shops so it really isnt a big deal. The ceiling vent/return was ridiculously loud and the filters needed to be changed and cleaned so there was a faint musty smell to the room.

It was a beautiful stay, wonderful location just a few blocks from the train station and directly down the street from Herald square. We had one of the corner rooms so it was a lot more secluded than probably other rooms which we loved. Check in was a breeze and the staff was all super friendly even when passing them in the hallways. The room was very comfy and well lit. Mini fridge was great, shower was spacious and clean. Overall really great
